He sounds to me like keeps trying to provoke the club into a response in order to muddy the waters.

That stuff about the club and the 3rd test event he believed they might want to think about again (in so many words) was very odd.

Maybe he believes he's in the firing line and he thinks the club should be taking flak too.

That's very naive if so, because fans - come what may - will always side with their club if there's a kick off in public.
