It makes me wonder if EFC was involved in any of the confusion. I find it hard to believe that they told Joyce when it was going to be announced (hence the 48 hours). The U21 tournament complicates things tenfold.

If there's any truth in that, basically we'll have him on loan for a year before he gets the move he wanted to Atletico next summer.

Would make it a "meh" signing IF that turns out to be correct.

That is incredibly far-fetched. I'd have to believe there is only a buyout clause if anything.
