But a similar release clause is likely to be in his contract for us for certain conditions - i.e. Atletico come in next year for him...

Why would we do it you ask.....because the worst case scenario is we will make a lot of profit on him in 1 years time (release clause will be likely 20m or so), plus a years worth of him trying to prove himself in the top league. Best case is he falls in love with the club and doesn't even want to move this time next year.

Financially it makes a lot of sense if that was one of the big conditions of him agreeing to come here....and it probably was as lots of talk he didn't want to leave Spain in the first place
