What flavour is best with pastrami? when I'm feeling decadent I double up pastrami with german peppered salami. Maybe even a squeeze of aioli. Wraps don't cut it vs bread.

I couldn't sleep so I've just got up and made a ham, cheese and salad cream sandwich. Loads of pepper. One thing that did strike me is that I'm absolutely terrified of making a noise in the kitchen when it's in the early hours. I'm a fully grown man, I own my house have a car, an expensive tool box and all sorts of grown up manly stuff but here I am tip toeing around like a kid on Christmas morning so I don't wake my missus up. If she got up in the middle of the night to make some food she wouldn't think twice about waking me up to ask me where the hand blender is.

Same here. I've just had toast and strawberry jam with peppermint tea. I tiptoe around too. Why?
Actually, I think it's that I don't want her to get up and disturb me rather than the other way round.

Used to be proper jealous of those New York delis, where you can just go and get what ever meats/fillings you wanted, kind of like subway but good... Not for me so much now I'm veggie! Still, the little Italian sandwich shop round the corner from my work do me a decent sarnie when I go in there. Super basic really, just lettuce, onions and tomato, with mayo and mustard, then a little pepper and lemon juice. Simple but tasty.

Local Sarnie shop does a Christmas Club Sarnie in December (imagine that)

Turkey/Ham/Chipolatas/Cranberry/Stuffing all on a bread of your choice. And being a club the centre slice is toasted and dipped in Turkey Gravy.

So So good. I've ate most of the sandwiches on the menu over the past few years and I've yet to get a bad one.

I only consider a sandwich to be something with bread on the top and bottom, not sides and bottom (hotdog).

Cubano is my all time fave, trying to eat as little meat as possible but in terms of a treat a good cubano does it for me.

Guess you could eat it turned sideways (the hotdog not you), but yeah, I've never even thought about hotdogs being sandwiches until it was mentioned by someone a few days back.
