Because if they turn their attention from has-beens and lads approaching the end of their career, to those just starting then they'll quickly create a 'powerful' league

That will when prompt broadcasters to fight for the rights to show games, they may work their way into a Champions League/Super League type comp and their sportswashing is complete

I understand that, but they will find plenty of other methods to wash their money other than the football.

It would be in a way, but if there is an illusion of fairness by teams qualifying for it through league position, like they do for the existing champions league, then people may not have a big issue with it.

No one in Europe will be that arsed about them. But there are big markets elsewhere in the world (e.g. Asia) where the league could gain traction
