If Clarke had one decent PL class forward the other night that score ends up a lot closer, and more than likely with a win for Scotland.

Never have I seen an attack pairing at international level as pathetic as Dykes and Adams. How Scotland made it to a play off game for the WC with those two up front is a minor miracle. They are appalling. Barely any link play from them, no composure, no movement, no finishing. When you think of some of the attackers Scotland have had in the past and you compare them to those two. Unreal drop off in standard.
Tbf Scotland have not had a top drawer striker since Ally McCoist, their options have always been journeymen or bog standard SPL/lower half Prem players, I mean they gave Nigel Quashie caps for god sake

I think this is what we're typically talking about, the likes of Chris Iwelumo, a journeyman striker who played most of his football in the lower leagues.

Even Kenny Miller or Naismith would have done. Their movement was good and they finished. Unlike those two spare arse parts they have at the moment.

But there just isn't anyone I can think of at the moment he can put in, he can only go with who is available, remember all the decent players they had when they were qualifying for major championships were all playing for top clubs that's far from the case at the moment.
I agree a workmanlike player such as Miller or Naismith could make a difference but you rarely see forward players anywhere who put in a shift like those guys.
Just feel I have to defend Clarke for getting even this far with a squad of that calibre something had to give at some point.

I know, it's not Clarkes's fault.

I'd have played a false nine or some other system if the attackers available are so appalling though. Surley there's a Scottish player who can do that?

Was so weird in general.

Scotland were on a 9 game unbeaten streak as well, right? This makes the random selection even worse in a way. Like a man with no plan for this game, despite the fact he had a working one the past 9-10 times lol
That's correct, we were playing lower quality teams for the most part though. But he changed the selection after having success against Denmark, who aren't a bad side.

Surely you're not serious? Can you remember how bad things were before Clarke took over? The results he's fashioned over the past couple of years has been nothing short of a minor miracle with what he has to work with and let's not forget they have qualified for the Euros.
Ukraine were galvanised and had the momentum for that game last night.
Who do you think would actually take the job and do better than Clarke?
Totally serious. We've had some decent results against teams like Isreal and Moldova but remember that disaster that was the Euros? I disagree with the miracle bit, you could argue that this is actually the best squad of young players we've had for a while. It wasn't long ago that our team was made up of Championship players. Now we have first team players from the PL. I have no idea who would take over, I think we need to look abroad. Look at how well Celtic did this year with an unknown foreign manager. As I mentioned before, last time we did that it was a disaster. It's surely worth a punt now though?

Yep, that is the problem here. I think we would need to look abroad for a manager. It was a disaster last time, but I don't see any other options really.

A certain fat Spanish fella, who once managed at the highest level many moons ago, is available ?

He’s a smashing fella, gets on well with everyone and is big on team and fan unity.

He’s not getting many offers from
league cloobs at the mo, so may fancy a crack at international footy ?

Bertie Vogts?

Robertson would be guaranteed his game every time.

Paul Hartley has left Cove Rangers for Hartlepool United.
Looks like they increased the package and made him an offer he could’t refuse. The striking comments for me were from the Cove Chairman , along the lines of “ Yes I’ve prepared for this and have a preferred short list of candidates, as you’d expect from someone in my position “ . A part time Scottish Championship club with a Chairman who’s more prepared for a change in manager than Kenwright and Moshiri have ever been. ?‍♂️
