The draw for the Premier Sports Cup will take place on Wednesday, May 25 at 1pm.
For the first time there will be no north/south split in the draw with all 40 going into the hat.

No doubt a few north east clubs will be hoping for a pay day drawing the Dons.

Can feel the world will be cheering against the Scots next week

Ukraine are the definite emotional favourites

I might have confused thoughts myself with a certain Ukrainian left back likely to feature.
Genuinely torn as to who to support in this one, for those that don't know, I am from Merseyside but have lived up here for the bulk of the past 42 years and would love to see them back in a major tournament again, indeed my eldest son and Grandsons will be at the match.

The flipside of that is the world would have an opportunity to get behind and show support for Ukraine on a World stage, they say politics and sport shouldn't mix but it's difficult to begrudge them the opportunity.

Worst possible scenario would be Wales qualify

The Blue Toon play the Dons ; the Broch have got Kilmarnock and Buckie have Ross County. It’s a weird format as there are 5 in a Group , 5 match days in July , 4 games per club , so each club is rested on one match day. A few clubs are indicating they’ll treat the group stages like pre season friendlies , giving lots of players a chance.

Should've kept it regionalised.

Queen's Park used to do that knowing they had no chance of getting out the group and would try out trialists, play reserve and fringe players and concentrating on getting first team players up to full fitness. Dont know if next season they'll go for it now theyre in the Championship and have a good chance and capable of progressing out the group. Up against Dundee, Hamilton, Forfar and Stranraer.

See the transfer silly season already started as Chris Burke whos been released by Kilmarnock and Scott Allan released by Hibs been linked with us!!!!! Also heard we could be signing Stephen Eze, a Nigeria international central defender who was with Owen Coyle in the Indian Super League

It could come down to how the fixtures pan out , who plays who when . Buckie are saying they’ll use it to give all players pre season practice , but in at least one home match they’ll want a crack at showing they can beat higher league opponents. Looking forward to it , July sure beats February for watching fitba in Scotland!

We've got Sat 9th July Stranraer A, Tues 12th Forfar H, Tues 19th Dundee H, sat 23rd Hamilton A. Well the home games are at Stenny due to Lesser Hampden still under construction. I like summer football and the warm evenings at a game and not sitting freezing away in February!!
