I noticed when Carragher was going on about how great The Premiership is, he neglected to mention that for the majority of it’s clubs survival is the name of the game, in a good season maybe a Europa League spot, and supporters of most clubs who dismiss other leagues are actually basking in the reflected glory from the top four or five clubs in the country.

That's hypocritical to an extent as the premier league has had multiple winners and at times three or four teams, even five or six in with at least an outside chance of winning the title at the start of the season. It has also had multiple different winners from Blackburn, admittedly right at the beginning to City last season.

Most European leagues are dominated by one or two teams with the rest no hopers,

Spain Real and Barca (Atleti close - ish)

Italy - Juve although the Madrid clubs and Napoli have had their moments

Germany - Bayern although Dortmund have been and are now realistic too

France - PSG

The premier league despite its top six and the rest scenario is far more competitive at the top and generally more competitive throughout the league too, even if there is next to no chance of one of the rest breaking through next season

Spurs used to be one of the rest but they have succeeded in breaking the ceiling and joined the top few, Leicester may have pulled off the shock of the century by winning the title a few years ago, but realistically it's not beyond possibility they could do similar to Spurs over a number of seasons.

How many winners have Scotland had ?

Celtic for some time and before that Rangers and Celtic, Aberdeen way back when Fergie was in charge and...

He never mentioned Scotland Chris, I took it he was referring to most of the other teams in the EPL.

Lennons been appointed at celtic there, whilst i have sympathy with the secretarian treatment he has recieved my mates a bolton fan and hes seems a thoroughly objectionable person by all accounts.

Think the interim period should be just that and look for the next big manager personally, though theyll be guaranteed similar levels of success theyve enjoyed with Brenda

Don't think Lennon really cares how he comes over in Scotland and is always stern, however when he was doing punditry in England when out of work before the Bolton job you couldn't wipe the smile off his face, similarly recently with his appearance on Soccer AM.

Celtic know what they're getting with him and of course he will get just as much if not more stick off opposition supporters so he knows what he's going into as well, never been a fan of players or managers going back to their old club's as more often than not it doesn't work out, agree with you here that the interim period should be fully used by both parties and to take stock and weigh up all options at the end of the season.

You don't rate Scottish football then?

I'm guessing he would have said that, but Leicester must have told Rodgers its now or never. I didn't realise Leicester were only 8 points clear of the relegation zone.
I think Leicester want him in now to see what the squad is like and be up and ready to go next season. Why wait until the leagues finished his mind would be totally distracted?

I actually really like Lennon

He knows his own mind and never backs down, which leads to him getting a bad press because he doesn't cowtail or kiss up to the journalist profession
