That's the reason to support your local team.

I know mate...but the last Scottish league winner that was not Celtic or Rangers was Aberdeen in 1984/5...34 years ago; and shows no signs of changing. Nobody could even step up when Rangers got their wang knocked in the dirt for a while and were out of the league for a bit. Hell, Atletico won the Spanish League in 2014 and that's derided for being a 2-horse race. As I said in a few posts later, I respect the dedication...especially considering the odds. But man, on paper it doesn't look good.

Jesus that must be a record for a league.

How'd the lad from Stoke look btw?

He came on after I'd left the pub

He did well, and looked quite pacey, though in fairness he did come on near the end when he would have been fresher than most.

He get's some distance on his throw ins. Maybe he's the answer to Celtic's poor set pieces? Don't bother with free kick, and corners, and just give every throw in to him, and get players into the opposition penalty area.

That is worse than any sectarian comment or song.

It's completely beyond the realms of any human decency to say that.

The term 'pond life' is often used inappropriately but it would be right on the money on this case.

In fairness, Rangers have already said they'll ban the guy for life, and their supporters have almost to a man condemned him.

It's beyond belief someone could be so evil as to taunt a man about the death of his 21 year old sister, because his team had lost a game of football.

Obviously he doesn't represent every Rangers supporter, but they really need to do more to rein in the worst element of their fan base

I'd like to think that if an Evertonian made a quip like that to a Liverpool player, other Everton supporters would set him straight pretty sharpish

You do hear some dissenting voices on that video, but I think it was police rather than other Rangers fans

Thousands of Rangers fans sung "The Lisbon Lions won't see 10 in a row" just after Billy McNeil, and Stevie Chalmers, died. If it were just the odd scumbag, like the guy in that video, I wouldn't say it represents their support, but when thousands of them are doing it, then it does represent them.

I remember a Rangers fan I worked with welcoming the fact that they would be playing away at Berwick after their club died because their sectarian songs aren't illegal in England.

They really do attract some utter weirdos.

lets be fair like celtic have had their fair share of unfortunate incidents such as the lee rigby chant

doesnt reflect a whole fanbase but its like our derby the worst of the worst come out and even the more moderate of fan can be swept up in it

probs wont ever change up there either. if we won a trophy it would make life easier for us tbf!!
