When your top team in your home league literally has no desire to spend money to attract better quality of players and you leave the rest of the sides to rot away like a league one team in England. You can't act surprised when the quality of the national team drops.

No competition, the quality in the sides are poor, all you can hope for is an English club sign one of your own and improve them.

Players only get better with better players. Maintain poor standards and that's what you get out of it.
