But then that is exactly my point.

Celtic have no need to spend money to be competitive in the Scottish League. They dominate it despite that and buy all the best players around them each year for buttons.

Therefore there is no competition, no desire there to compete with the European elite and never will be. So the knock on effect is to the rest of the country, less money as it's less glamourous and then the quality then drops further.

This is exactly what I'm saying here mate. How can you expect the other 10 teams in the premiership to have a chance of breaking that monopoly with no money ? They can't , so they are poorer for it.

And then because of all of that , the national team has poorer players because they play at a poorer standard.

When Rangers were out of the top division it wasn't competitive, but it was last year, and is again this season. Celtic don't have the cash Premiership clubs do. The club is quite well run financially, and lives within it's means. It tries to get players on Bosman's, or low transfer fees, so it can pay better wages to them.

Spending 7 million pounds on French centre back Christopher Jullien is a huge transfer for the SPFL. No club in Scotland can afford to fill their team with signings as expensive as this, never mind the 70, and 80, million pounds that have been spent on centre backs in the EPL.

Lack of scouting up here is a problem.
Big problem.
Some great players over the years have excelled in England without standing out up here.
Even recently you have ryan Frazer or that rs lad.
McGinn of villa was great for hibs.
Celtic have done well with non Scots as we know.
Facilities as well Al, hence more and more plastic pitches you have to pay for and less and less grass pitches and park spaces.

Celtic were in terrible debt not that long ago.
Not like are friends in England who can spend with knowing next years tv money will pay off or keep the bank manager happy.

@Alanbileysfeathercut Well Al big game at Pittordrie today, how do you see that one going? McInnes (@Cork Evertonian's now 2nd fav manager after Levein) seems to have given them a kick up the backside, that was some result at 'Well.
Unexpected result tbh.
Celtic had a heavy night on Thursday so I'm looking for a result for the dandys today.
At least there's no var to worry about.
The ref is expoliceman (mason/orange man?) John Beaton or so it says.
Who does he hate more?

I would think the pressure would be off the gaffer if they got a result today or would that be papering over the cracks?
Yes.
Said before the fans are against him.
The happy clappers aren't obviously.
But the new stadium means he wants to stick around
Hes on silly money for a non old firm boss .
What's his legacy.
A diddy league cup after pens.
Worse managers have won that pot and vanished.

The three certainty's of life.Death taxes and Derek McInnes losing yet again against Celtic.
Well beaten.
But he was once your flavour of the month.
Nothing to be ashamed of getting beat by a quality team.
Annoying ,of course, but Aberdeen are shocking this season.
Never turned up.
Sutton was right yesterday when he said about Aberdeen players not keeping up.
