Goal line tech can be applied to the extent of play lines, there can be a sensor in the ball to determine exactly when it is kicked, and each player can be made to wear a transponder, as many already do, if the transponder is in the same place for everyone, it should be easy for software to interpret where the players are exactly when the ball is kicked. On field discipline can be enforced by video monitors who ask the ref to look fat anything contentious. Herein lies the problem. They don’t want clinical state of the art technology. They want etch a sketch and fans heads falling off.

Offside was introduced so the attacker didnt gain an advantage. How, in Grays non goal, he is gaining an advantage, is beyond me?. From the point on the pitch he starts his run , there's no advantage in a foot, never mind 1cm.

He is right though. VAR could be a fantastic tool but the implementation is completely wrong. It shouldn't be used to call marginal offsides like we're seeing which the is the whole 'clear and obvious' thing that doesn't seem to really be implemented. Isak's and Gray's goals were not clear and obvious when it comes to 'offside', equally the sending off of Tripper should never have been overruled - it was too subjective.

Football and the interpretation of of its rules will always be subjective. What one man considers to be a red might not be for someone else. That's absolutely fine because there are so many variables that you can't account for every situation. However, fans and SKY have for years called for a level of consistency which isn't practical and now the powers that be are implementing VAR to the extent they are.

Yes, I used to like the "clear daylight between the players" interpretation of the offside law.
 

didnt even bother to look at VvD going over the ball into Onana, of course not, Liverpool aren't that kind of team, then listen to prick Walton justify why not.
