SCRAP VAR

Of course VAR is a nonsense. How can they disallow goals because an attacking players big toe was offside? That’s a complete nonsense. But they miss Saint Virgils lunge ( Asssault ) on our player. How can VAR allow that. We ( Everton ) need to call them out over that. When we next have a player sent off for a nothing tackle , Mr. Lampard needs to bring up why the VVD lunge was only a booking. There was me thinking that VVD could play the game. He must be slowing down when mistiming tackles as badly as that. But no worries, VAR will protect him.
Anyhow, we all know that VAR is not fit for purpose. Even those half witted pundits know. But they are in on it all. Don’t rock the boat , and all that nonsense.

Just a thought . How many matches would in the past have turned out different if VAR was around. Or would decisions still have gone against us. All hypothetical I know, but would Bryan Hamiltons goal have stood if we had a honest functioning VAR back then. Would we have beaten that Spanish team and qualified for the champions league groups. All just conjecture I know. But that’s my point. I was foolish enough to think that that was what VAR was going to be all about.
Var nowadays should be used for over turning those sort of injustices. The Frank Lampard disallowed goal against Germany is another. His goal could have changed the course of that match. Who knows? But no. The VAR that we have. Run by idiots . Is not used for those type f decisions. As I actually was stupid enough to think that that was what Var was going to be all about. But no. The powers that be have turned it into a joke. It is spoiling the game. Big time.
Guess our players are going to have to start scoring a few screamers from about 30 yards. No nonsense goals that no one can complain about. Although I bet var take a look look anyhow. Pickford had better not be scratching his arse , or var will rule our goal out. And we had better start winning a few matches by 3 or 4 goals. Just to stay ahead of VAR.
It’s all a nonsense folks. It’s ruining the game. A team will be relegated soon on a VAR decision. Or a team lose a cup on a VAR decision. And the idiots running it all will say that changes will be made. Isn’t that what they said last season? Rant over folks. Aaaarrrggg. Up the Toffees.
Nothing to do with that. He's been leaving one on players for years, but the red heavy media just call it 'letting them know he's there'

VAR is doing exactly what it's designed to do, fix results when the ESL clubs have non scripted incidents go against them.

I say keep var but

1) make it black and white silhouettes so the decision maker doesn't know who it's for

2) don't use refs, have specialist VAR operators

3) have the conservation between the ref and var operator on the speakers so the crows can hear what they're saying
No.1 is a good idea but, ensuring they VAR ref has no idea which game he's watching might be hard to ensure, especially is tv angles show the crowd, they might recognise the stadium

I assume it is, I thought it was on myself.

Nothing to do with the lines, but I was always coached that you are on if the last touch was by the opposition.
No that isn't the rule exactly.

I've seen on Twitter people are sincerely using that picture as evidence he was on. Part of the problem with the whole refereeing debate is people are extremely emotional (or maybe just dumb). It wasn't onside. Also it wasn't handball against Milner. Just take the 100% bull poop ones like the Van Dijk tackle and hammer that home. Trying to pick every single call out doesn't make it stronger.

I thought it was odd they didn’t apply the lines during the game, not on my feed anyway. But wouldn’t argue that aspect.

The last player to touch the ball was an opposition player, I’m not sure what the technicalites are anymore they’ve fiddled with it that much - Ive spoken to professional coaches in the game, who can’t rhyme and reason it and struggle to apply the rule to coaching given the variance in application.

To my mind if the last touch is of the opposing team your onside, it’s how I was coached, I’m sure there is a technicality in the rule for interruption, but thats part of the problem in application and variance around it.

I got the idea watching the hawkeye on the cricket. They can create a cgi version of the last ball. I don't see why that can't do the same with footy. Then make it black an white. I'm no tech expert but I reckon they could do it, not that they will

The thing about the VVD one especially the still pic that's going around is look where the ball as the point of contact.
Its behind VVD that's how late and dangerous it was.

The 3 teams that benefitted from the weekends atrocious VAR decisions are Chelsea Liverpool City (coincidence?) of course not.
EDIT: Just realised VVD tackle didnt even go to VAR!

The worse one for me was West Hams, that's nothing to do with incompetence or a mistake its clear corruption, mistakes get made during real time not watching them on repeat 10 times through a monitor.

Its not fit for purpose its there to eradicate mistakes so were better off without it, its also taking the euphoria out of goal celebrations. Its killing the game.

BTW did Richarlison's yellow card get rescinded after getting booked for his disallowed goal celebration?
