When he was out for a long spell with his leg break, we didn't find a decent replacement. Just seemed to expect him to come back and be the same player as he was. Never been as effective since coming back and we're making the same mistakes we made not looking for long term replacement for Baines.

Seemed like BT wanted to give him credit for post match interview. No Everton captain who admits ‘they wanted it more than us’ gets any credit from me.

It’s like it’s got nothing to do with him. Good player in his prime, shocking captain.

Its weird that. Like him saying that is about the other players only. He's supposed to be the leader on the pitch it would help once in a while if he didnt wait till after the game to say something or make the example. Always takes the easy way out even with ththe ball. Fed up of seeing him start games for us while we "chase" Europe. Laughable.

Problem with Coleman is he’s part of the Moyes Kenwright years of thinking finishing 6th was amazing for Everton, so he wouldn’t see any issue with the fact that a truly awful Newcastle wanted it more than an Everton side which could have gone 5th,1 point off a CL spot ,he will think well this always happens no biggie, hence we get the ridiculous rallying calls ,also he’s past it at this level

Hasn't been the same for a long time. I remember when I used to watch him go forward, run at defenders and take the **** sometimes. It's a shame it's come to this but he's at best a bench player now, I'd leave Holgate in there.

Haven't got a problem with Coleman. Top pro, absolute bargain for the club, been a great servant and seems a top, top guy in general.

He's just not good enough for where we want to be and this should be a priority position in Summer (has been for years, so I won't hold my breath) to bring in a first team right back who is under 25.

How is it a problem that he was part of the best years this club has had in the last 3 decades? I also really doubt he finds losing at home to this Newcastle side acceptable either.

The issue with Coleman is that he's not as good as he used to be.

Pretty clear now that Holgate should be starting now over him.

I thought it would be a rotation having Coleman against the teams where we would have more of the ball. But I don’t think he actually offers more going forward than Holgate. In that they both don’t really offer much but Holgate is a lot more solid defensively
