Ah Seamus. I love him. He gave us many seasons of absolutely top class performances and I will always respect him for his consistency, quality, effort and leadership he gave us.

But afraid time has caught up to him and if we are to progress he simply can not be starting regularly for us anymore, and that was probably true a good couple of years ago.
It's sad, but he's done. Time, unfortunately, waits for no man. He's had too many bad injuries and has too many miles on the clock. We badly need a right back (and a right sided midfielder/forward to play in front of him).

His decline was an inevitable part of sport. Every athlete eventually encounters an erosion in form. But through it all he's had a magnificent and notable career defined by exemplary professionalism , pluck and commendable skill. Hopefully after he ceases playing, he'll adopt a role similar to Baines within the club. Seems like the rare breed of footballer who exhibits genuineness

How time flies! For years I wanted Hibbert out coz he was crap but there he was year after year
unable to improve and adding nothing. Seamus, who has been pretty good, will be out sooner or later.

Question: which player in the Premier League period has played most minutes without scoring?

We haven't had a RB that could cross a ball since Marc Hottiger in 96. Scary really.

Losing pace is one thing.

But he's lost his combativeness.

He was a mouse on the pitch yesterday as his team was not only outfought but bullied and kicked across the park.

The last time we lost because of a lack of effort or as Ancelotti said 'spirit' was Wolves and Coleman come out and slated the team for it. He couldn't this time - he was as bad as the rest of them.

Then comes out and says "they wanted it more" Sorry Seamus but that's a damning indictment of your captaincy,The managers voice on pitch can't even lead by example. Hate to get all mellow dramatic but these past few seasons have muddy the memories of the all action full back we knew. I could forgive him for his obvious playing flaws, because of the fight he'd bring to the team, but we can't even get that out of him now.
