2020/21 Seamus Coleman

Love Seamus, he’s been one of this club’s best bits of business in the last 20 years. Unfortunately, he is finished as a starter at this level. He is still useful around the squad and on the bench, but, his days as first choice must, sadly, be over.
Until we get a new first choice right back into the club, either Holgate or Godfrey must start at right back.

We have a lamentable record of not doing the old Brian Clough/Peter Taylor thing: replacing players one day after their value begins to decline.

Coleman should have been shipped on in 2017. Evertonians are often decent people. They are loyal. But we are loyal to a fault. By being loyal, we simply get to watch our once-loved figures decline in front of our eyes to the point where they are unrecognisable to what they previously were. Then, it becomes toxic.

If we allow players to decline, we allow the team to decline. Seamus could have been kept around as a backup, but we never replaced him. And this in a time when we had money to spend. It's dreadful squad management.
Sums up why the only honour can compete for is the prestigious 7th Place Trophy....

I'll admit to thinking he could do a good enough job for the rest of the season in the hope we could replace him in the summer, but it's quite clear he's finished.

This thread is making me very angry. Never read such nonsense from certain people.

No Davies to Blame so we will go with Seamus. Holgate has been great no doubting that, how many times assists has he had?

Was Coleman at fault for goals recently?

Move on for a scapegoat
Did you see him give the ball away when Wilson hit the post.....

We need 2 RBs in summer. One aged about 26-27 as first choice and a 2nd aged 21-22 as a back up who can push the first choice. We paid £60k for Coleman so I would be more than happy to let him leave for free in the summer once he is replaced.

Is that all you have? Really he gave the ball away.... James lost possession more times than anyone yesterday, does that label him poor.
You asked had he been responsible for any goals, well he would of been with wayward ball he played when under no pressure and but for the post he would of done....Comparing it to James losing the ball while under pressure or trying to be creative don't make sense.
I iove Seamus,he's a great pro and been a great signing but he should not be a starter, especially when a better option in Holgate is available....
