playing him too much over exposes him. Not good for 90 minutes week in week out anymore IMO.

But he's got the fire in the belly, and the nous, and we need those qualities.
Definitely need to be bringing in and grooming a long term successor next season.

Holgate has covered well, but he is better as a CB. Thought he and Godfrey were very good last night. Would like to see them develop as the first choice pairing. Proper cover in both the full back berths facilities this too.

That's no slight on Coleman, just the reality.

Thought he had a solid game last night. Life in the old dog yet.
Had a good game, but also made the 2 mistakes that nearly gifted Arsenal a goal. The pen ok it wasn’t a pen and it was Richarlison who made the challenge, but it’s a really bad header from him. Lacked game intelligence. He should know who’s behind him, he’s never getting enough power on that header. Should have been put out for a Corner.

And the chance right at end that Pickford saved, was again awful defending from him

Nobody doubts Coleman's attitude and professionalism. It's the basic technical ability that has always been in doubt - and even more so now as he declines in fitness. The ways he meekly ushered in the Arsenal forward for that chance at the end when Coleman himself was favourite to win the ball was feeble. It took a very sharp save to bail him and us out. If he's our first choice right back starting next season, something will have gone badly wrong during the summer and we may need to reassess what the true ceiling of this "project" actually is.

Thought Holgate done well last night, but i wouldnt be building the defense around him after one ok outing against Arsenals 3rd choice striker.
Utility back up at best for us, same idea as Tom.
