Good grief. Trawling through YouTube for Coleman mistakes tonight?!

Didn't need to trawl, it was absolutely humiliating seeing him play that bad, and I'm over the moon how he's turned it around this week. But overall this season he has been poor, just like a lot of our players. There's no agenda in saying a player is performing poorly.

He’s past it. We know it and he knows it. What can he do though? We need him, and he’s doing his best. As I said earlier, it’s very clear that he’s respected in the dressing room and is seen by the players as a leader, even if the virgins on here who think you can only be a leader if you win the Victoria cross disagree.

Nothing mate, he's giving 100%, I'd expect no less, and as I've said earlier in the thread it's not his fault there's no adequate cover in his position. He's respected by me as well, and 99% of Evertonians, for 60k he owes us nothing (which I've also stated before). He's just really, really been struggling this season.

Probably the most enigmatic player of the premier league era. Bought for 60k, known by many as the best right back in the league at his peak, career changing injury, recovers and still does a job. Club captain and well respected by every Evertonian, and more importantly by his fellow players and managers..
Great way about him and very scarce today. He could have abandoned us years ago for better things if he wanted to.
Yet some of our ̶b̶e̶l̶l̶e̶n̶d̶s̶ /fans want to slag him at every opportunity. Baffling.

We all know (none more than him) that he's now in the twilight of his career.
His body may be slowly letting him down, but his contribution today was all about passion and determination.
He displayed a Mike Lyons type 'run through brick walls' attitude. There was just no way he wasn't going to get his head to that ball.
A real Captains goal and an inspiration for the rest of the team.

Just look at his face after he scored. He was almost in tears ffs. It means everything to him. Nobody is more committed and more passionate about winning for us.

Is he the top tier right back he was 7 or 8years ago? No. Is he still a decent right back... yes, and more than that, he would walk over broken glass for the club.

Patterson hasnt started for us yet,but if Coleman is his mentor, and if he has half the class and commitment for the club than Seamus has then he will be a star.

Love this guy. A proper leader and a true blue.

Yes he’s older passed it I’m not so sure, I think as players get older the managers have to utilise them in a different ways, he’s captain and imo no one else in the side comes close to being a good enough leader to be captain. With having Kenny and Patterson I do think Coleman could be very effects a CB much like he was today, imo he’s not passed it but has lost some pace over the years, so perhaps being an attacking FB is best left to the younger players. But he still has enough to offer to be a PL player for at least another couple of years if he’s managed correctly.
