Hmmm. but it's OK to insult a player because you don't like what he's offering, and you don't want to be arxed about what the Managers are saying. Of course, those insulting the player might know "more football" and it's intricacies more than the actual people in the hot seat. Then they should be applying to be Everton's next manager, rather than yapping about it here.
Could apply that to everyone on the forum ffs ?

We're all yapping about improving everton. Why don't we all apply?

You are side-stepping the issue I have put in my post... Let me break it into simpler terms:

a) Is it OK to insult a player without knowing the full story? and then mention / complain about other insulting you?
b) Do you know more about a player after watching him 90+ minutes in a game than a manager who deals with that person day-in, day-out?
c) Do you agree with the manager when he (all of them who have managed him) mentions that he is one of the best person / player they have come across and keeps on selecting him for a game? Or would you do a better job than the Everton Football Club's manager?

What will it be?

A. The full story? What's the full story? I've watched him closely since he debuted. He's declined massively and is no longer good enough. And I stand by what I said. He is a mental midget on the pitch.

B. I know what I'm looking at yes. Not good enough.

C. I don't care how nice of a person he is. That has zero effect on his ability to perform at this level. No I wouldn't do a better job than Frank (who I like) and never said I could.

A) The fully story? The club failed to find a replacement for him repeatedly. His fault? He keeps on giving what he can, when he is asked to? As many times as asked to? Worth being insulted for?

B) So if a Manager who works with him daily, who knows more than you, sees something and finds him the best solution for what needs to be done, maybe through choice or compulsion, is it his fault? See point above if you choose to say yes

C) Then if Frank (Lampard) deems him worthy of starting every game, remember he is doing a better job than you ever could. So should you not trust that he knows what he is doing.. So, if Frank (Lampard) feels he is the best choice, do you say you know better? See point above in case you say yes. Just to clarify, I was not at all alluding to managers saying he is a nice guy, almost every manager (that I remember) has claimed that Coleman is one of the most consummate professional they have come across

Oh... I am enjoying this here....

Probably more at home at the tin mine,

Why I defend Coleman as much as I do? I usually stay away from individual player threads, but I don't know why I feel my blood boil, when people start slagging off Coleman. I though about it over the last few weeks and I think I have realized why..

People like Coleman (Or Moyes, Baines, Jagielka, Howard, Cahill, Osman, Barry, Pienaar or Everton team as a whole) give me belief that even if I am not talented enough to sit at the high table, through sheer grit, determination and hard work, I can aspire to rub shoulder with giants of my field of work. It gives me hope, it gives me direction.

When I started following Everton, that's what the team was; a hard working bunch of B-Listers giving as good as they got, I immediately fell in love with Everton and "People's club". The face of Everton is changing over the last few years, we have more talented bunch of players coming in, and it's a good thing as a club to aspire to bigger and better. Everton for me means players like Coleman, who are single minded about giving everything they have, and who put their heart and body on the pitch, inspite of their short comings. I can identify myself with Everton and it's players. Everton became me and I became Everton.

I hope I am wrong, but to me it seems Coleman belongs a dying breed of humble footballers who work their hearts out for the team. And that is why when someone insults him personally, it hits close to home. It feels personal, it feels directed towards me. It begs for reaction...

Maybe this post does not belong here, but since it's about Coleman I vented here... Mods may delete this if not the right place to post.

Its his fault he keeps tripping over his own feet and can't cross a ball, yes.

Then maybe "Frank", as you name him, does not know what he is doing, because he keeps on picking a player who keeps tripping over his own feet and can't cross ball. Is that what you are suggesting? Either "Frank" knows what he is doing and is picking Coleman on merit, or he is a clueless git, who keeps picking Coleman even though he keeps tripping and can't.... (Whatever you have written).

Now you seem really confused or just not able to keep up with the twisted logic of your own.

Which one is it Kirkdale? Is "Frank" good or is "Frank" bad? Remember whichever option you choose, your understanding of football is worse than "Frank's" as YOU mentioned.
