2021/22 Seamus Coleman

Apparently asked for his own replacement 2 years ago and said he doesn't have the legs to keep up multiple games a week at the top level

*Another sinner is dragged kicking and screaming across the cobbles as the key turns in the lock*

Ahhh ahhh ahhh, ahhh ahhh AHHHHHHHHHosanna in Excelsis

It is a sin to tell lies Practitioner Fod and we here at the Inquisition have just the tools to discourage you

*rings bell, cleans off table, pats wooden crucifix*

A lot of people saying the thing about Coleman re he's not good enough it's the clubs fault he needs replacing.

Agree he needs replacing and he shouldn't be asked to play every week.

However, old age and not having the legs doesn't excuse some of the things he's been doing recently, he's supposed to be a seasoned pro and a captain yet he keeps making the same stupid mistakes all the time, what he did yesterday for the third goal has still got me in stitches today

Opposition are targeting him now as he's obviously been identified as the weak link, how we haven't had a right-back replacement considering the money we've spent is absolutely unbelievable. I genuinely reckon some fans on here could run the club better.

Should realise nobody at Everton cares enough about him or the club to let him bow out slowly and with some grace with the odd cup game and that, and instead pull the plug himself.

Convinced we'll see that at the end of the season, tbh.

Kenny was supposed to replace him. Brands personally monitored him at Schalke

2019 - (after Sidbe on loan)

“After we found a very good loan for Jonjoe Kenny - because I had promised him we would find a solution for him, he needs to play as much as possible - we wanted to find a replacement to give some competition for Seamus Coleman, and only looking for a loan because we don’t want to bring in a permanent deal in that position because we want to see the development of Jonjoe,” Brands said.

Will also add....from 2019 Holgate went on loan to West Brom and played RB for 23 games, putting in very good performances.

So what you had was Brands sticking with Kenny and Holgate as RB cover therefore we invested in other areas.

Carlo bombed out Kenny. Played Holgate there instead. Funds dried up.

Therein the story of no RB.

People saying Kenny is far worse than Coleman

How can you be far worse than making 2 mistakes every game and contributing very little offensively.

Unless Kenny is literally a snail he cannot be far worse than Coleman

He was scoring goals in the bundesliga and winning awards not too long ago

And Rafael isn't asking him to get forward either.

He doesn't have a choice and neither do Everton if he is called up. Christ you really hate him don't you? Why shouldn't he want to play for his country ?
Players can actually retire from international duty. Many have, and also cited the reason for doing so was to continue their playing career at club level. Nobody hated them. They were being realistic and gave an honest reason for their actions. They admitted they could no longer do both.
(Remember James Macarthy being called out for continuing to play internationals when not fully fit to do so, and then never really having another decent game for us)?
Seamus would be no different if he called a halt on his international career by admitting age was against him and he needed to be more aware of his capabilities, especially after his horrendous injury almost six years ago.
This has absolutely nothing to do about disliking a player, it is a statement of reality.
Or should he destroy all his years of being a much loved player by doing too much and eventually turning the fan base against him. I don't think he deserves that, but that is what is happening. I would much prefer to remember the swashbuckling performances he used to do than the error prone player we are seeing now.

If its true he's got bad bruising on his foot, I bet that's when he got snapped by Benteke but no one (except Pickford) kicked up any kind of fuss.

It was a straight red.

More likely when he kicked the ball as hard as he could at Ayew.

Bruised ego, probably just bottled it for the Chelsea game.

Not serious, top professional is our Seamus.

Yeah, actually I am. Had enough of him now he can clear off too.

Unfortunately Azza it'll be the fresh air that injured him if it happened then as the football along with the foot both missed the player lol
