There's no way our club captain fades into the background.
It's game on to secure the RB spot.
If he isn’t starting over Coleman every game by February then it’s a joke.

I think you'll have you're eyes opened soon enough. If he isn’t starting over Coleman every game by February then it’s a joke.

I don’t think he will, Benitez will give the lad some time to settle but will deffo play him towards the end. He will have to play him to justify the signing.Coleman will remain first choice until the summer
Under a new manager or interimI don’t think he will, Benitez will give the lad some time to settle but will deffo play him towards the end. He will have to play him to justify the signing.
People say this like Gary Neville had one bad game and said sorry lads I’m done but in reality he’d been fading for years and only started about 30 games in the 4 years before he retired. He’d been happy to sign 2 new contracts in that time and come on as a late sub in a load of games to make sure he got his medals though.See that, it’s all good people saying because he’s been a good servant for us he doesn’t deserve stick but for me. You listen to him saying that and then listen to Gary neville say he knew he was finished and didn’t want to spare his team mates anymore poor displays that were costing his club points then I am sorry he should have more balls and admit his times up. Not his fault that during a bad injury our joke of a chairman offered him a five year contract ( another joke decision btw). But he shouldn’t be playing premier league football at right back. Never mind left back.

Left back probablyColeman will remain first choice until the summer
Fair comment but the thing is Coleman’s been finished since that dog neil Taylor decapitated him back in 2017. Why we offered him a five year contract was pathetic and shows how amateurish we are as business.People say this like Gary Neville had one bad game and said sorry lads I’m done but in reality he’d been fading for years and only started about 30 games in the 4 years before he retired. That was revisionist horeshit from Neville btw.See that, it’s all good people saying because he’s been a good servant for us he doesn’t deserve stick but for me. He’s going to have his Neville moment at Hull.
Excellent post. This is how I see it and let me declare at the outset I am biased towards Coleman, so take it with a pinch of....
He is super loyal/dedicated to Everton, and wants to be with us till the end. He has never demanded a new contract or stomped his feet or mouthed off rumours. He is declining (as has been mentioned zillion times, I hate Neil Taylor) but he does not select himself in team (though with the current setup you never know ? ), that's on the manager. He might have expected to be eased off the duties while someone else (Kenny, Holgate) takes over, which does not happen, and he is pushed which in turn exposes him more and more. Holgate WAS brought in as a cover for Right Back, if I remember correctly.
As to the sound bytes, he is the Captain FFS, do you want the Captain of the team to break away from the official line and expose the rift out in the open, and yeah what happened to the VC when he did that? He is forced to say what the club wants to hear at the cost of turning the fans against him. Can he break away and start venting, he can, but as I said, he is loyal to the club.
I feel really, really sad that he has to go through the BS from the club as well as the fans.
