Europa League tie he was injured and acting as a pundit in the studio for Ch5. We weren't doing well 1st half and he told the presenter he didn't think the team had a clue what it was trying to do.

I was finished with him from that moment on.

Agree with a lot of what you said, but the bold part is a bit harsh. He can't help when he was born and what era that led to him playing in. Us not winning anything in forever has absolutely nothing to do with him and everything to do with the crap teams he's been forced to play in due to the incompetence at the top of the club.

I don't quite agree. Truth be told, he played in an era when any good Everton player was easy pickings for the top clubs. That Seamus stayed is partly a testament to his loyalty, but also partly because he wasn't considered good enough for the top clubs.

I think we can admire his tenacity and courage and, at the same time, acknowledge that his technical limitations were profound enough to keep him from the top table of the game in his own era.
