I agree, to differing extents, with most of that post. He definitely deserves the fullest praise for his service to the club and the team.

However, the bit I left above I completely disagree with. The reason being that some people have issues with how every Everton captain acts. Not every captain is screaming in the refs ear every time a foul is given against. I don't like it and it should not be the norm, I see Coleman being there when a controversial foul has been given, he is not in the ref's face but asking questions, in the right way. This does not mean he is not leading, if anything he is showing kids who look at him the right way to go about it.

Some fans have this obsession with captains needing to be screaming in the refs face all the time. As said, I see him in the frame of the picture talking to the ref, when he feels it is needed. If we want refs to improve then player behaviour needs to improve and for me Coleman always looks for the respectful way to complain/discuss some situations with the ref.

That for me is being an excellent captain. Plus, I will add, we have a few 'captains' on the pitch. A football captain doesn't need to be the focal point, if there are other strong personalities/leaders on the pitch. It is not like Rugby or Cricket, as examples, where a captain is pivotal in some or all of the scenarios that can happen during the course of a game.
Right, and agreeable, but also - "when he feels is needed" is very subjective - personally all of us felt it was needed he was more vocal with the eye poking incidents against the RS, one of which was against him, yet he was far away, not doing anything, while the RS were in the ref's ear, and we get nothing again.

More obviously vocal like every team's captain - not arsed about leading by example - the current example is being vocal, not the quiet leader.

And yes, we do, thankfully, but still the captains are the ones who usually argue at/with the ref about most things with a lesser risk of a yellow card for literally nothing. If he was doing it and more often - fine. If he's not - give it to Tarkowski who does it then. Or Pickford who does it.

Sorry, I forgot we can't talk negative about Coleman. I will fall back inline, sorry.

…of course you can have a view but unless you’re close to the lad it’s hard to be definitive about his characteristics for being a coach. He must have attitude and application to come from Irish League & play so many games for his club & country.

A series of Managers seek his counsel & he’s very well respected in the Irish set-up which suggests he has strong views on the game.

Do you not see my point if we are likely seeking his appointment at any time is probably because we're not doing well as a club.
