2022/23 Seamus Coleman

I pity those people.

Seamus is a legend and instead of being able to enjoy his time here they prefer to make themselves miserable because they'd rather Coleman and Everton were doing worse.

I cant pretend to understand that thinking.

It's not real though. In the pub this evening you won't have Blues like that. They don't exist in real life. It's the curse of the Internet.

I feel sorry for Seamus because he has had his name dragged through the mud by having to carry the position for longer than he should have. Even at this age I consider him a top backup that is still doing well to hold down the position for the time being. We need a successor but I’m still glad we have him.

He's the best RB at this club, that is for sure.

We should be in for Spence next summer if we stay up.

TBH the more they expose themselves they actually better demonstrate the great posterior deficiency of the individuals in question.

I have a number on ignore as I can argue with someone that has a wooden leg, but not with someone that has a wooden head.

The class, passion and dignity that Seamus has shown in his time at this Club, and before, simply exposes even more the bitter and twisted personalities that post this bile - but he is made of stern Donegal stuff, and I am sure just laughs at their Neanderthal toxic ravings.

He is the bright sun to their darkness.

The Patterson thread is a lot nicer lately too, I'm unsure why 🙃

See you'll not find anything close to that level of nastiness to describe an Everton player in the Patterson thread compared to the abuse Seamus got in here. It waa balanced, polite criticism at most.

Actually I'd argue it wasn't even "criticism" for me. I think the kid is young and very raw. I said he sometimes makes mistakes like you'd expect for a young player. And I thought we'd paid over the odds for such a prospect when what we need is someone match ready. That's all I've ever said.

Assuming he stays he needs to be off to a Championship team for a season to learn the game. Bring in a starting right back over the summer and keep Coleman on for one more season as back-up.

Then in the summer after next Seamus retires and, if good enough, Patterson comes back to challenge for the position.

I slated him last season but this season he’s been very very good.

Still can’t cross a ball for love or money but Dyche seems to have stopped asking him to which shows a manager with finally some common sense. Coleman is now just focussing on his defensive game and one on one duels, or running it into the box for a pull back when the move is on, rather than constantly playing wingback and trying to create all our goals from fullback crosses.
