He took it though. People call him a servant of the club...
Haha what's he supposed to do? He's a leader on and off the pitch. He shouldn't be first choice but he works hard and gives his all. Hard to believe people slag him off when he's probably the best value signing we've made. 16 years giving his all and people slagging him off.

The decision to renew not one but both of Coleman and Young's contracts has the potential to be very problematic for us this season. Coleman is absolutely finished at this level and Young is a near 40 year old liability. Very odd decision making.

The club let us down by not buying an able replacement for him. That's why his contract was renewed.
They should have sorted out a replacement back in 2017 when he was out with his broken leg. That happened in March, so they had a full summer to sign a RB then, and all of the January window too before he came back. That injury could have been the end of Coleman at the top level, so even when he got back in the team, signing a RB should have been high on the list. But this is Everton, signed a free transfer to plug a gap in the squad and just hoped he`d come back as good as he was before.
The only thing thats changed now is that we have a crocked RB in Coleman, a geriatric RB in Young and Patterson who seems to be not up to it.

It's been a story of poor signings at RB.

Hibbert then Coleman gave us two decades of solid performances, but the last 2 seasons or so we've been exposed there.

We are in transition and strapped. Good decisions allowing strengthening elsewhere. We obviously need them to retire but the summer window has been good for us so far (including extensions)

You understand that it's OK to recognise him being one of our best ever signings and recognise he's now washed up don't you?

Coleman shouldn’t have been on the pitch in the first place, that’s the point. We wasted a sub replacing him because he’s been falling apart for years. Yet Dyche will keep picking him when he’s fit instead of sitting down with Thelwell and addressing the issue.

but it is what it is in it mate!

but it won’t get dyche sacked

We'll see if it's a good decision between now and January. I'll wager that Coleman plays less than 5 games in that time and Young has at least one points costing howler. However, I, just like you, am only speculating at this point.
