Seamus Coleman

Absolutely gutted for Seamus, without any doubt the most likeable, down to earth player in the squad in the time he's been here! Does a tremendous amount of great work for charity and my mind goes back to his interview last week with the Down Syndrome lad when he was laughing a joking with him - little did he know!
If there was ever an argument for retrospective bans in the game the footage last night of that tackle is it, Taylor chickened out and consequently knew he was going to hurt Seamus big time - needs banning from all football for a long time!
Spot on re Seamus; thought he was gonna be our next club captain.

Yeah don't think anyone was aware he'd gone to Villa, it completely bypassed me. Sad that we won't get to see him return to Goodison as he'll be stuck in the Championship/League 1 for the rest of his pointless career.
Maybe i should of read a few pages before posting!! I havent seen it only what ive read but its seems like the tit has proper done him!!

It's like life in general mate. It's always seems to be the good ones that get crapped on. My missus believes in Karma, but I'm yet to see he evidence.

Here's hoping Seamus makes a full recovery and get's back to the level he was before. The lad deserves to, no question.

Very true mate... Think it's just 2 days ago I was watching videos of Seamus with kids with down syndrome.... He wasn't just there because he had to be, he clearly wanted to be there and had fun with kids.... Top bloke...

First of all i love Seamus Coleman. I love how he gets Everton, how he is humble and a class act with EITC. I love his passion, his determination, his desire to make sure Everton are never second best - even in defeat, he wont give up and make a mockery of us. I, we, the club and its fans love you Seamus.

The arsenal blog was also very true, something myself and my grandad have been very vocal about. Taylor probably misses about 3 games or something. Seamus misses something like 9-12 months.

What does the football authorities do about it ? Nothing.

Taylor may not be a dirty player, it may not be his character. The fact remains that as a professional footballer he knows the consequences of his tackle, yet he done it anyway.

My only suggestion as a football fan - not a expert, is to maybe introduce a law where if a player goes into a challenge like that and breaks a players leg, he spends just as much time suspended without pay. What you do with that money is upto discussion, 50% to the victim, 50% to the clubs charity ? Imagine thinking im going to do him (trust me many people behave like this im afraid) then thinking hang on if i do this it will cost me £40k a week for 12 months ! Hitting a footballer with a ban is nothing, he may even go on holiday for a week, hitting him in his pocket for 12 months could cost him everything, just the same as it could cost a player like coleman his career.

That last line im confident wont be the case, you know why ? Because seamus would hobble onto the pitch with one leg to represent us, he would apply himself in the same manner he has since day one, with class and the spirit of a winner.

Get well soon Seamus. The Everton family are with you every step.
Well, you really get our Seamus. A super lad in everway

Just saw a picture of the tackle,it's a bad break and at 28 I doubt he'll come back the same player.Hope I'm wrong.

Snivelling RS out already.Just heard somebody discussing it in a local shop."Awful tackle, shame he's out the derby; I'm a red myself but would sooner beat Everton with their full team out " he proclaimed.Proper patronising f*****s ain't they?
That's an old one. People who say that never mean it. You should have clouted him with an item from the shop.

I would honestly not be suprised to see Seamus at training first thing next week on crutches, telling RonKo that its just a scratch and he is fine for the derby. One tough SOB. Didnt he used to play that gaelic football where the knock hell out of eachother ?

How do you geniuses know that Joe Ledley had any knowledge of the extent of Seamus' injury? And do you really think he was laughing at that. No? You don't?
If you have ever heared a leg being broken on a football field you will know what utter rubbish you are talking.

The noise makes you shudder i witnessed it once in 25 years of playing, a center half in a nothing challenge, he cleared the ball and the follow through hit the back of the legs of the other player resulting in his leg completely foooked!!

I see John Hartson has gone the way of the myopic Chris Coleman as well. What is wrong with these people? If you've got nothing to say other than defending Taylor then don't bother saying it. Beyond patronising to hear these excuses.

The challenge is an absolute shocker. When Mori lunged on Origi last year we were all unanimous in saying it was a disgrace. Just call the tackle out for what it is.

"Neil Taylor isn't known for being reckless." - High boot into Kyle Walker's face. - Broke Tadic's nose. - Broke Seamus Coleman's leg.
