...not sure if it's been mentioned but I wonder if there'll be a legal case associated with this, not forgetting the £1m settlement Anichebe got from Kevin Nolan after his sickening tackle in the Newcastle game some years ago. When a tackle is not really a tackle, when the referee issues an immediate red card, when the 'experts' uniformly condemn it as 'atrocious' then there has to be grounds if there's a will.
I think he would definitely be advised that there may be a case eggs. It was so out of control and wreckless that the "he's not that type of player" just doesn't cut it for me.
...it opens up other considerations. I don't know if EFC has to pay Coleman's salary or whether the Irish FA are liable but it could be a significant amount of money (£3m perhaps). Would the club legally consider a compensation claim from the Welsh FA or even the player? Possibly not if there's an unwritten law inside the game that this would open up a 'whiplash claim' culture.
Interesting though.
Agree and this guy has got form for being reckless - remember his shocking 'tackle' on Kyle Walkers face the other year.I think he would definitely be advised that there may be a case eggs. It was so out of control and wreckless that the "he's not that type of player" just doesn't cut it for me.
Won't insurance be involved somewhere along the line?I don't know if the rules have now changed mate but if not I'd imagine the Irish FA would now have to pay his wages until he's back into full training with us. If that's the case I wonder if the Irish FA would then look at making a claim against Wales.
Seems ridiculous out of all of this that come next Saturday Taylor will be allowed to showcase his non existent talent on a football pitch.
Answering my own point, if they were anything like motor insurance on classic cars, they'd only pay out the 60 grand as full and final settlement.Won't insurance be involved somewhere along the line?
Could bankrupt the welsh fa ha ha,...it opens up other considerations. I am pretty sure Seamus is not that type of person. He exudes class and his attitude to life is far more profound than seeking monetary retribution. His joy in joining with people with 'special needs' on an equal basis exemplifies that he sees much more to life than mere lucre.
In fact it is this positivity that will help him to come through this quicker than most.
His attitude, including his calmness after the tackle, is in stark comparison with the many shallow, idiotic, narcissistic money grabbing players that unfortunately pollute this beautiful game with their egotism and downright cheating .
