Seamus Coleman

It might just be me, and throw me pelters if you must, but has Seamus really got the drive, the intelligence and football brain to be captaining us ? Not in my opinion.

He's an emotional leader. That's what Ireland needed to keep them going against Italy yesterday. I'm not sure I'd trust him to organize things and make decisions on the pitch but the guy can get you pumped up certainly. I felt absolutely giddy when he was yelling like a mad dog at McCarthy.

Look, we'll all admit Seamus is not the most technically gifted player to every wear the blue shirt or the Irish shirt, but he almost always puts in a shift.
I think it comes from his GAA background. He is a grounded lad and doesn't take the gift of being a professional footballer for granted.

He gives everything, wears his heart on his sleeve and if he makes a mistake then its not for the want of commitment.

Hearing it from a lot of United fans and theres a lot of tweets etc mentioning Coleman to United, the latest one saying Mata deal near done with EFC and that Coleman was part of the deal supposedly. Really doubt its true but just thought I'd put it out here incase someone knows more about it

I was very impressed with him in the huddle at the start of the games too.

I dont understand (actually I probably do...) why people assume he is thick. I cant say I have ever picked up on that when hearing him speak.

I think he could go this summer to be honest, this is based on nothing but opinion but i could see it happening.

Honestly why do people persist in criticising Everton players as if the last two years have nothing to do with Martinez. Most our players have looked bad under the tactics of Martinez. Especially our defenders. We still have great players and Coleman is one of them.

Koeman likes his fullbacks. Seamus shouldn't be going anywhere.

My bigger worry is St. Baines. He seemed to wilt under RM.
