You're comparing the Premier League's most consistent and best performing right back of the last 4 years with a young lad who's played a couple of games

Mate... they're really not the same thing are they? Firstly Kone has played a lot of games and has shown he's not good enough... second... Kone never put in a mom performance ( not even his hat trick) third... if we dropped lukaku for Kone... we would be losing games.

We need competition for lukaku I agree but we don't have it. We do have it for Coleman now. (Or at least should have)

Coleman is not the best performing right back in the premiere league for the last 4 seasons. He was just as bad as the rest for bobbys last two years.

And holgate was playing well so why change a winning team? While at the same time blooding a youngster , he was improving game on game and by the end of his last match he was getting forward and looking confident.

I just don't think he should have been dropped that's all.

If we dropped all of our best players for whatever flavour of the month reserve stepped in during their injury, we'd have effing Garbutt plodding down the left wing, floppy hair in the breeze. I have nightmares about the likes of you or Zatara taking the reins, it would be a load of 16 year olds getting pummeled while Tel001 scratches his head on the sidelines wondering why David Henen's attributes aren't going up.

Your being stupid now mate.. taking what I said to the extreme... my view is " holgate played well enough to keep his place" THATS IT! And Garbutt wouldn't be playing still unless he had performed at a level which warranted it. One of the main reasons we are seen as an attractive club to youngsters is because they get a chance here. How does a youngster get a spot in the team and hold it down.... if even when he plays outstanding ... he loses his place? Does that mean he will have to wait until Coleman is 32 and starts to decline? Meaning we have a 24 year old player that had huge potential and has not played any games in 5 years? My view is.. be patient and wait for your chance, then take it and hold on to it for as long as you can until you are injured , suspended or lose form and then Somone else gets a chance ... and if they take it you must wait again.

Or since we are taking things to the extreme.. how about we don't play youngsters... then when they are released we can buy them back for millions like baines and jags

I do t think so... I think we are quite patient with our youngesters tbh.. I know many will disagree

We patiently build them up as Everton's answer to the Barcelona golden generation, and then smash them as soon as they misplace a pass.

Ross Barkley is an empty husk now. Stones got a nice little move to City, but his Post-Lower-Gwladys-Stress Disorder is still there for all to see. Shane Duffy is a bricklayer, David Henen never really got out of that taxi. We ejected Garbutt just as he was about to reach his goodwill critical mass but our fans were visibly disgusted that they didn't get the chance to break his spirit. Davies and Holgate are next, mark my words.

Stones attracted Attention due to the fact he was doing cruyff turns in his area and over playing ... he got stuck because he kept doing this even tho it was costing us goals... I blame RM for both him and Barkley not progressing as they should... Duffy obviously wasn't good enough if he's now a brick layer and hennan obviously wasn't either... I mean if lesson, gosling and even Baxter can get clubs then these two obviously weren't good enough ... it's that simple.

Garbutt couldn't get into the Fulham side

Forgot about those two. Not to mention Rodwell. He scored a goal against United and our fans knew it was the right time to strike. Awful behaviour.

Well I might be well off the mark... I live in Aus and my last game at goodison was 2-0 Newcastle when amokachi scored twice in 1995. But I see familly often and the thing I find is that most evertonians have the same opinions on players generally... I can honestly say I have never turned against a youngster... I have never booed any of our players to be honest

His years of committed service, loyalty and current form don't matter Dave. He's 28 now, Grandfather Death already has him marked. Holgate's had 3 or 4 good games, it's his time now.
