2017/18 Seamus Coleman

I knew Seamus wasn't starting to ease himself back in for 45 minutes, or maybe an hour. Once he started it was business as normal and he wasn't coming off.

To play 94 odd minutes after that injury was outstanding. To play at the level he did, and with such intensity, is remarkable. The lad is the heartbeat of the side. He might be Irish and proudly so, but he is Everton. He knows what it is about. Armband please.

everything we did good last night came from the right, he was so solid at the back and really good going forward. basically his usual self, now if we can just get Baines fir on the left we would look better all round

I hope this lads performance has educated a few as to how far off some of our kids are. A special blend of supreme effort and undoubted skill. At the moment most of the kids are lacking in the latter

Let's also not forget that Seamus learned his trade by being loaned out and being played right wing, we didn't see this Seamus until he was 25/26 so maybe give some time for the kids to develop; I don't think anyone expected Kenny or the other kids to be playing at Seamus level.

For me he has set the bar for JJK, the levels that young man has to strive for are there for him to see, what greater motivation. Also for what it's worth, JJK is better at 20 than Coleman was in the same position at the same age.

Was superb to see Coleman back last night and he picked up where he left off, he laughs in the face of double leg breaks.

I think we’d have all been delighted with a solid 60 minutes. That performance last night was really something special & the run in the 93rd minute just capped it off. Pity it didn’t result in a goal, but he’d run himself into the ground.

Seamus & Wallcott could be a real threat.

Totally agree with this, it might serve JJK and the club well to loan him to a decent Championship side to get that learning curve that Coleman got at Blackpool. Not lost faith in JJK just he has a long way to go to reach the level of Coleman. Captain next year and despite winning nothing with us is close to being a club legend up there with our best.
