He did his job satisfactorily under financial constraints and a points deduction from a League with an agenda. I wish him well and hope he goes on to future success.

This however is Everton and he is not the man to take us back to the top or even start that journey so it's the right decision.

That wouldn't have mattered. This was a clear case of ending a contract. You pay through the nose for that.
It is understood according to sources that the US owners, who bought Everton just before Christmas, felt that Dyche had “given up” following talks with the 53-year-old.

They felt they had supported Dyche since buying out former owner Farhad Moshiri, but feel there was a change in his attitude over the last four games which saw draws with Chelsea and Manchester City followed up by defeats to Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.

The past few days have resulted in protracted negotiations between TFG and Dyche and his representatives over a compensation package.

A settlement has been reached, but FSG did not want to pay Dyche the last six months of his contract, and bonuses, up in full because they felt his attitude towards the job accelerated the need for change.

Ya boy is a coward who quit on his stool.

He has respect as he saved the Lampard debacle and did quite frankly exceptional last year. But his commentary and result this year do not change that. But either because he was lame duck or his inflexibility he needed to go. Not mutually exclusive.

Keep in mind as well that every single player in that dressing room knew he was on the out either in the summer or earlier, and a large number of them are also on the move this summer.

Despite this we saw the effort they all put in against Arsenal and City away, and Chelsea and Wolves at home to get vital points.

People will sneer all they want but anyone who has ever been in any professional environment knows how the tables completely flip when the boss is on the way out working gardening leave, or when you’ve handed in your notice yourself.

He still had this lot running to the end

Saved us for 2 seasons, for sure.

Without a shadow of a doubt if we'd have had another choice of manager after Lampard sacked who wasn't Sean Dyche with his attitude and character we'd be in the Championship - probably for our sednd season - right now.

We owe Sean Dyche big time.
I'd agree that we could have gone down, but he hasn't pushed on, we have been very very difficult to watch this season he's lost a lot of the respect I had for him..

 Where's that from?

Respect to their feller.

He came into a basket case headed for the Championship and saved us.

I agree with this. The stuff he had to deal with it's remarkable we are still in the Premier League and have a fighting chance in this season.

We’ve been a basket case off the pitch during his time here, so he’s had a lot more to deal with than your average football manager. Probably overachieved last year, in terms of points total.

This year has been dire, really really bad. The football is dreadful, and I doubt it would be much better even if he was provided with better players. Lost some goodwill with his snarky comments in the press, he should have been smarter than that.

He will have got a nice pay off and will get a Championship job as and when he wants it, so don’t feel too sorry for him

I fear for us now. I do.

Respect from me for everything before this season so he gets the yes vote. No respect whatsoever for this season as i got sick to death of the excuses, blame dodging and never trying to win a game. Don't completely blame him though as he had no one running the club for the first half of the season and everyone no matter what position you are in needs over sight. Still has to take accountability and responsibility for one of the poorest first halfs of a season the club has ever seen.

So thanks and no thanks i guess.

I think that's true, but neither is the next hire IMO.

I don't think we're ready of the man to take us to new heights, we're still teetering on the brink of irrelevance.
