2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Think you said it earlier, convinced a lot don't watch the games, think someone said they were actually in the gym yesterday. Someone else a week ago went to a non league game. Both spend most weeks in here doing the faux ambition bit. Its part of a bigger inferiority complex. Most people don't want to support Everton, they want to support a top 6 club, so loose sight of the wellbeing to the club and what's required incrementally get it there. Event junkies who think Everton is for their entertainment.

There is going to be a huge degree of instability at the club with the transition to BMD, unless we win our first game, there is going to be huge pressure on the club to do just that, game on game. There is an argument for some degree of stability and continuity - i think that's a judgment call.

Interestingly i believe the TFG have already spoken to Thelwell about extending his contract.

I'm convinced that most people are not watching games, they're listening to them. Telly on but scrolling through their phones/pads all game looking for other people's comments on the match.

That's the only way I can understand how anyone thought Newcastle were terrorising the Everton goal yesterday...because it wasn't happening in reality and only by listening to the rubbish tv commentary from Carragher and his co-commentator (such a non-mark I cant even recall his name) would they state that "the dominant" Newcastle were "constantly breaking through Everton lines" and had a "host of chances".

That didn't happen. The commentary was completely bogus to what the eyes were showing you. But it seems that's what the bulk of critics have been basing their critique of the game on: Sky Sports commentary.

32% for the Home side

hard yards n all that

Totally fine with the result. He's been here now for 20 months and let's say the first 4 months was all about keeping the club in the league no matter what, but now he's had to develop the team in 16 months. For that I see very little, despite we have not many footballers to play good technical football.

Defensively it worked well last season, last few games we looked a bit more stable again, but far from where we were. For me progress this season, would also be better with the ball to finish in the same region again.

It was/is his chance to prove himself with a better squad than Burnley that he can make a squad playing But you see Doucoure on the pitch back to back, with his first touch and passing must be one of the worst in the league. McNeil was moved to keep Doucoure on, who was for me the 2nd worst player on the pitch apart from Tarkowski.

I know the stats under Dyche with/without Doucoure, but keep playing players like him doesn't get us better in possession he's an obstacle or like others say Donkey. Lindström was pretty bad against Palace, but he's one of the better players on the ball and showed hints he can get good in a combo of Ndiaye and McNeil. Lacks of efficiency though yet.
I said at half time will he take a favourite off, who’s been poor for lindstrom like the week before, obviously I was joking because we all knew the answer.
Again Harrison and doucoure were terrible, McNeil not much better

We've had some of our best results and performances off % possession like that in the past.
But winning 6 in 28 shows it’s not a long term strategy, it’s a fighting relegation strategy, which is Dyche’s MO. He’s not interested in anything else. Get to 35 points and see what happens after that

Staggering to believe that people can't accept you can get good results and also play good football.
Maybe it's not an entertainment business . But it would be nice to actually enjoy watching the game every now and then . But the few beauts here keep telling us it's not possible for this squad to do that . What absolute tosh .

And some drop in the line, Lampard tried that and look what happened. Well the same people, will also tell you Lampard was one of our worst ever managers, so how does that work.

The squad has also changed a lot in the last 18 month’s, Dyche is fortunate DCL has been fitter and available a lot more than he was under Lampard and Rafael, he also wanted young and plays him constantly, same as Harrison’s and McNeil. He keeps going back to Keane, who hasn’t done badly to be fair, but will all know he’s a disaster waiting to happen. Tarkowski has been poor this year, but gets picked every game

Fine by me for the time being.

I think people forget just how close we've come to relegation in the last few years.

I haven't. Many others have't. It's safety at all costs. Not arsed about the football on offer. Sometimes its a nice surprise and we play well. But it's not essential.

Sky commentators going on about us going long all the time is water off a ducks back for me. They are know-nothing spanners who dont have a clue anyway.

If and when we get to 35 points I very much hope that the first thing I hear is from our new CEO is "Thanks Sean. You've done your job. No need to turn up to work anymore and no your contract won't be renewed"

It was a good competitive P/L game 50/50, could have went either way, momentum swung this way and that, but a draw was a fair result - a bit disappointed not to win - but its a good draw. I don't know how anyone couldn't have found it exciting, there was great tension and drama, haymakers by both sides going for it. We were very good defensively, with a couple of decent forwards i think we win yesterday. We by far had made and had the better chances yesterday.

I honestly don't know if people are not watching the games, looking at highlights or really not understanding.

Funny thing is people talk of progressing and ambition - then run the club and the team down at the first chance. 🤷‍♂️

i backed this feller due to the mess etc

he’s got some better players new ones

still plays the same

still picks the same

still SAYS the same. he hasn’t changed as he cant, i don’t want to watch this football

it’s boring predictable and depressing
Said it from day 1 matty, if he’s 1 year or 4years nothing will change, all this nonsense give him some money and he will buy better players and turn us into a good football team. He’s playing Ndiaye out of position, to shoehorn his favourites in, yesterday he couldn’t wait to get doucoure back in 10 move McNeil to the right , not his position and bring Tim into midfield. Why not try lindstrom the last 15 with ndaiye behind the striker, maybe even throw Beto on, he’s not the best granted but they don’t have fast centre backs and we could have put them under a bit more pressure in that last 10mins. Dyche instead just shut up shop for a point. He would take being 0-0 on 80 mins every week

This. I'd love the guys who rate Dyche to be really honest and tells us if they enjoy watching his teams play .

I understand why he was appointed and get that all the current owner is interested in is getting to BMD with PL status.

But the terrible football we have to endure really isn't sustainable.
