2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Look at the precise quote from Dyche that's being discussed:

“There is no evidence to suggest he should be playing as a number 10”

It's nonsensical, and what you are saying doesn't map onto that as an explanation at all.

If we are to totally discount how well he played at 10 for Sheffield United, then we must also discount how well he played in any other position.

Therefore, there's no 'evidence' he should be playing on the wing, either. No 'evidence' he should be playing anywhere.

So excluding past performances in itself makes no sense.

What is MORE EYE OPENING

Is that we signed him in the summer with his playing evidence being:

Sheff Utd: Playing at 10 = success
Marseille: Playing wide = Flop

Also with Lindstrom
2 clubs playing as an attacking midfielder = Success
Last club playing wide = Flop

It seems to point at Dyche not actually being part of the signing decisions in the summer...

...does it not?

Imagine my surprise to check in here and find that people are falling over themselves to somehow justify the absurd notion that "there's no evidence to suggest he should be playing as a number 10". Really? With almost half his matches played there, where he scored more goals per minute than any other? Where he plays for his national team?

What a disingenuous lie that is. Dyche could have said "I think he's better on the left" and while Id disagree with him you could make some argument. But to say "there's no evidence" as a reason why you cant play him in that position is exposed as a lie when you consider that HE HAD NO EVIDENCE HE COULD PLAY ON THE LEFT. Yet that's where Dyche has played him. 154 matches for club and country before Dyche got a hold of him and only 9 of those were on the left, yet that's where Dyche plays him. Without evidence to suggest he should be playing there.

Dyche did a fine job last season, and I suspect got miffed about the backing and criticism, and has since decided hes going to throw in the towel until they fire him because he didnt get a contract extension.

If he'd have said something like...

"We gave Ndiaye the 10 shirt and he's on a long term contract. We expect him to be pushing to earn the right to be in that position after fully adapting to the premier league and delivering a decent return of goals and assists out wide"

That would have made a lot of sense and challenged the player to raise their game.

So you'd like to sign up a manager from a pool of managers who would take the job without knowing funds are available. So another firefighter on a 3 year contract?
Of course not
There will be funds available in the summer though(possibly january) and I'd expect an ambitious manager with a modern understanding of the game to take on the 2nd half of the season without much issue. A manager less comfortable with losing

We don't need a fire fighter because there is no fire yet. If we keep him there may well be though. Last season at Goodison is being wasted on him

Dyche also responded to calls for Iliman Ndiaye to be moved into a central role by saying there is “no evidence” the Senegal international should be playing in the No 10 position.

The £15 million summer signing has impressed since joining from Marseille but has played the bulk of his minutes on the left wing so far.

“He’s doing well off the left,” Dyche said. “People keep telling me I should be playing him there. People keep telling me of my role as a manager.

“I think he can adapt to Everton. The modern No 10 has to defend from there. Dwight does it very well on the offensive side but has found the defensive side more of a challenge.

“It’s not as easy as you think getting the right passing lanes to stop the opposition and then attacking on turnovers over 95 minutes. That can be developed over time but he’s doing a good job coming off the left — he can wriggle and drive into the box. He’s still adapting.”
This bit is confusing, is he saying McNeil isn’t defending as he’d like for a No10, therefore Ndaiye would be worse? Or is he saying Ndaiye is doing a better defence job on the left then McNeil was?

Can’t be arsed with this farce anymore. He wouldn’t have a problem with people, whoever he is referring to , if they were telling him how good a manager he is.

And it’s alright these “journalists “ asking fans for what to ask , why don’t they challenge his responses more or if it all .

A rigged game , they need the fans for relevance but it’s a closed shop, too compromised, can’t be straight and sincere in disagreement or access is limited. Be arsed with it anymore.

We win on Saturday , which I think we will, and it’s the same tit for tat routine between fens as well.
