2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Hang on, are the fans idiots because they want a progressive "hipster" manager and have unrealistic expectations about style of play or are the fans idiots because they don't want possession football and want a simplistic hard tackling effort based system? Just want to be sure what we're using as a deflection from Dycheball this week.
Well windy, you're the one calling the fans idiots there. I would never say such a thing about Evertonians. I think different fans want different things, but as a collective, goodison loves a bit of effort and high pressing but we only really get that with the 'big 6' at home. In crowds, people will generally get swept away with the roaring when a good tackle goes in or we push a team back. When people groan you're more likely to have sections doing that, rather than the whole crowd.

By the level of wet boxers, you wouldn’t necessarily think people are happy. Clearly people are unhappy with something broken.

I think the lack of decent full backs doesn't help mate, also think DCL makes very hard work of some good stuff he creates, i think hes very influentiail in there and i think he hurts.

Im open minded on 10, he could for sure play there, but we all also know playing at 10 you get heat from defensive midfielders and central defenders, while on the flank, you have a full back and then a centre back if they needs to come across. I understand the logic to be honest, i dont think its wild to think, why dont you put your most dangerous player where they would get less heat.
So no-one thinks he is really bad on the left and it’s just made up then?

Shame we don’t do any of that either.

Exactly my point mate when I said it's a Dyche thing.

And they were all Dec to mid Jan just before we sacked him.

You and loads more - don't like him as a person and it shows.

All I do is try and offer some balance and give Dyche the same courtesy I give Lampard.

As for Lampard I liked him too. The only Everton manager I've spoke to. He'd engage with GOT on social media etc.

But ultimately all I'm arsed about is Everton and us remaining a Premier League team until we get new owners.
This is the arguement on here:

“Dychettes” - actually all think he is the best option until the new owners come in.

“Scorched earther” want Dyche out now, and replaced by anyone, no one could be worse. Anyone would do better with this squad. No I can’t name anyone that would want the post with current ownership, no investment guarenteed… but it is not my job… yeah that would be moshiri’s job?

I'm not sure i'd say it's his 'actual position', he played well there for Sheffield United clearly, but it's not like Dyche is the first manager to use him wide instead. We've had plenty of players in the past who have been moved around to try to get the best out of them, and most attacking players these days don't have an 'actual position' I don't think. I'd like to see him tried in the 10 myself, but I'm not so sure of my own footballing knowledge that i'd go out on a limb saying he would clearly be better there. I'd like to find out, but I accept that I might be wrong.
Don’t get me wrong, I think he has been great for us so far. And think he is better on the left than McNeil is. However I think he would also be better centrally than McNeil is and would create more. McNeil also does the defensive work (as we saw last year).

And with N’diaye being arguably one of better players technically, I’d rather have him were he is likely going to provide more. (Instead of having two positions slightly weakened, we then only have one).

I may be wrong as well, but for me, he was signed as a 10 (also has that number but that’s irrelevant in this day and age apart from number 9s) so we should be using him there.

Well that makes your post even more bizarre the fact you’ve been watching since 77. It was nothing to do with relegation it was to do with not starting the sewpwk as good as we should have, Koeman had us 7th the season before and silva was 8th the season before , just because you drop into the relegation zone in October/November doesn’t mean you’re in relegation trouble, the team we have today has more chance of going down then them 2 sides, by a mile which was proved with the Final positions then season

Funny because that was not the feeling amongst fans when we were getting spanked 4-1 at Southampton with Unsworth. Koeman accumulated 8pts from 9 games - Allardyce came in and stabilised us then the crowd turned at Burnley when we got beat (the same Burnley who'd beat us earlier in the season at home under Koeman).

Same goes for Silva Lost 9 out of 15 - 14 pts from 15 games - Evertonians wanted his head on a stick after that 5-2 derby defeat.

If they're simply poor starts then can this season not simply be a poor start (11 games played) after doing better last season than we expected (points won wise) and if as you say we have a worse team no surprise we are involved again this season.

If we need to sack a manager every 18 months to get the same players to perform a bit better then that suggests a problem that does not just involve the manager.
