2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

So how many more points deducted if we kept him on the books ?
None as they have shown with other deductions that it’s not necessarily how much you go over by that determines number of points. We likely would have won more points than we did by having him on the pitch though.

He was also reported to be in between £76k and £120k when we signed him. That’s less than we pay Doucoure. I know who I’d rather have.

(Not the £250k peddled by Benitez media when Benitez decided he didn’t like him).

You need go away young man and do some studying about the team you apparently support, we were never in relegation trouble with Koeman and silva, the fact after Koeman went and with unsworth and big Sam we finished 8th that’s tells you, you haven’t t a clue what you’re taking about
Seen virtually every home game since 77 and away since 89 so I know quite a bit about Everton. Both managers were sacked when we were 18th - both were sacked in response to fan fears about relegation.

Well that makes your post even more bizarre the fact you’ve been watching since 77. It was nothing to do with relegation it was to do with not starting the sewpwk as good as we should have, Koeman had us 7th the season before and silva was 8th the season before , just because you drop into the relegation zone in October/November doesn’t mean you’re in relegation trouble, the team we have today has more chance of going down then them 2 sides, by a mile which was proved with the Final positions then season

I think ignoring what managers say generally is a good rule to live by. They will always be self serving and most of them aren't very intelligent and so just give generic soundbite answers like they've been coached to, that's why they all say stuff like 'good moment' and 'noise' etc, it's just media training they've all had. They're generally just egotistical fellas who begrudge the entire idea of a press conference and so treat the whole thing with contempt, it's the same across the entire football league to be honest.
Yeah, they very seldom say anything too insightful or revealing.

I think, for me at least, it's simply a case of his time here going on longer than is palatable. He isn't doing anything that I wouldn't have expected from the start, but the ownership situation is dragging it out a lot longer than was the case with Allardyce, Lampard or Benitez.

Playing at goodison since carlo against lesser opposition has been a consistent problem for us. Its why the crowd is generally more up for a game against one of the big boys, because we get a chance to be aggressive out of possession and fans like to see the effort.

You can't deny that there are grumbles when we are passing the ball between midfield and defence against one of the 'lesser' teams.
I think if we can string 3/4 passes together under this manager tomorrow, there will be Mexican wave.
Carlo won games early on and in the first half of his full season, the 2nd half with injuries to quite a few of our better players and attacking players, he went on the defensive, which ultimately didn’t work,
The Spanish waiter was very defensive and dyche is the same,
Only Frank is the mananger of the last 4 who probably goes on the attack, but he wasn’t a great mananger.
Yes of course the players you have will dictate at times how you play, but nobody is convincing me that this manager can’t set up differently and be a bit more positive at home.
The home form under him is poor

Oh Sean

We’ve got a right back who can get up and down the pitch but he’s sat on the bench not allowed any game time because the manager has decided his face doesn’t fit.

Yeah, this is just speculation. For me, Patterson has had chances under Dyche and just not taken them.

In Dyche's first season (18 games) he started Patterson in 4 games, though Coleman was available (and started) for 11 games. Interestingly, he started 4 of the last 5 and only missed the last game through injury. Last season he started every game before being dropped for our first win of the season against Brentford. He was then used as a sub in a further 5 matches before coming back in to the team for the consecutive defeats to Spurs, City and Wolves. Wolves 3-0 was basically the last time we seen him. What did he do during that time that makes you think he took his chance? He's also since had a 7 month absence with injury.

I can be objective and say despite the 4 month drought of wins last season he was able to get the squad to be resilient in the face numerous adverse factors, but this season he's been atrocious and he's so tethered to his rigid outlook towards the game its very unlikely he will be capable of making the necessary adaptations to resurrect some degree of form. I honestly think the squad is better still obviously flawed in certain areas than last season but he's unwilling to implement players to suit their strengths. He's so cocky and pompous starting to enter Benitez levels of delusion and self aggrandizement

Cant believe people think Ndiaye is really bad on the left, i like him, has had a good impact, good player.
For me i don't consider him terrible on the left, it's that he gets isolated and is unable to drive with the ball when he positioned centrally which affects not only his influence on the game, but disrupts the entire rhythm and balance of any attack. Since mcneil can operate centrally for limited spans of time, he cannot fulfill that role the entire game as he can't carry the ball in the same way ndiaye is able to, since he's so one footed and his lack of pace becomes more evident in that position. So I perceive it as ndiaye not being able thrive at best position which becomes a detriment to the team in general
