2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

you must realise that Mykolenko is the perfect Dyche FB right? Decent defender poor in the final third. And Dyche picks Young over an attack minded FB in Patterson
If he spent money on FBs we would not be getting anything that improves us that much defensively and would not be attack minded FBs because he doesn't want them and they probably wouldn't sign for him

Mykolenko is crap mate and wouldn't start for another team in the Prem.

Had that view prior Dyche, and will have after he leaves.

Young also wouldn't start for another team.

After them 2, there's not a lot of choices - Patterson has been injured most of the time.

Myko is the best 1v1 defensive FB we have and that suits Dyche
Most teams play with attacking FBs these days except Dyche's, even against 10 men at home against a team playing narrow and compact
Where Dyche is concerned the spend is practically irrelevant because he is a limited manager. Served a purpose, but that purpose is done.

Besides, regarding his cheque book whinging, if he took a salary more applicable to the place in the table he sees us then he could afford another player on the books.

Like tarks, I think he has been carrying an injury this season.

Defensively his stats last season were very good (in comparison to fullbacks in the PL.)

Compared to this season, something’s clearly changed. (Branthwaite being injured?, McNeil not in front of him? Injured?)

Seriously?
All his Christmas' came at once and he's been laughing all the way to the bank. £20 mil over a couple of years to keep an under-performing squad in the Prem when other managers are paid a third of that to compete for Europa League.

Makes you wonder why Bielsa or other names didn't snap Everton's hands off...

Dyche is only here because we're chaotic and we've remained so. Even worse perception wise after point deductions.

That's a big drop off alright

Branthwaite helps him out. Im a critic but even give him due credit last season. He held his own, benefitting from our setup - which I didn't think he was capable of. Still though it's clear as day he offers sod all going forward.

It does. Well other names anyway
Bielsa knows his style requires time to implement and is notoriously a purist

It is clear that the club had no plan in place either despite having a long drawn out process after previous manager sacking.
It's done now. Job done. He has shown he has nothing left to offer.
Same tactics, same set pieces, same rubbish.

Still banging on about his salary? If the club had offered you all a vote in Jan 23 on whether we should pay the manager 5 mill a year if it meant we stayed up that season and also the next having incurred an 8 point deduction you’d have all absolutely gone for it.

Now you’ve conveniently forgotten the negotiating positions at the time the contract was agreed and the risk profile Dyche took on e.g he’ll be getting turfed out as soon as the club has new owners.

I’d have asked for a big salary as well.
Would you be suprised the contract isn't extended when the negotiating position has changed? Would you be happy enough to talk up or engineer a similar negotiating position in order to try to get that kind of money again?

I never thought I’d say it (in fact, I’ve defo said we shouldn’t do it), but I’d take Moyes back for a season to sort us out, I’m that sick of watching this miserable excuse for football. He’s a better manager than Dyche and would get a better tune out of this squad. We would at least attack teams.

Although, I do realise he wouldn’t want to go when his contract was up and would stink the gaff out with all his moaning and crap cardies.

I never wanted Moyes back either but he is a lot better than Dyche.
I'd prefer a clean slate, massive squad turnover in the summer giving the new manager a chance to build properly.
Would love it if Carsley was sounded out of the managers I know anyway. TFG presumably have looked at a lot of managers over the years and could pull one out of the bag
