We bought Richarlison Digne Mina Bernard and loaned Zouma and Gomes that window, record fees for an attacker CB and full back that haven’t been surpassed at Everton since. The season after we bought Iwobi for 30 mill, Moise Kean 25, Gomes 25, Gbamin 25 mill and Delph.
If you think this is ‘no difference whatsoever’ and ‘if anything it was worse’ to the current economic climate and squad options available to the manager then I really really cannot help you.

By your way of thinking, if we bought 10 Ronaldo's we would win the league when in fact we would probably end up relegated. The squad was completely unbalanced due to really poor player scouting and purchasing and it resulted in us being 3rd from bottom when we sacked Koeman. Take a look at the players in that squad going into 18/19 the transfer budgets available, and the wages we were paying
Take a look at the exact same things Jan 23 and the18 months that followed.
Tell me again how nothing has changed and it was worse back then

Dyche's style got found out even more between '18 and '22, and then he stayed away from football not improving or studying anything new in a changing game. Those are two situations that definitely changed.
