2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Why don’t you address the one from January 2022? That really was pretty much the same team, swap out Richarlison for Onana.

Well it wasn’t the same was it, Richarlison Gordon Allan walk into this team.

But happy to say I was wrong about that one. apologies to all the pro Dyche crowd at that time, he did better than I thought he would here.

Some might even say what he did in his first year was ‘beyond a miracle’ wouldn’t they mikey?

Good man

Now say you were wrong about Benitez and it will all go away

I think everybody felt Dyche came in to a difficult situation and were willing to give him a bit of leeway. However he's shown he's tactically clueless. Last season against Arsenal at home, just waiting for Arsenal to score to change things. Even under Lampard you had hope in games, Dyche will go to Old Trafford, try to not concede, United will score, then get another and it will be game over and he will have yet another excuse.

he will have smelt one of the following:

new manager bounce
Utd still use cheque books
Everton fans don't want to name a pub after him
something something grass

As will his supporters, who now number about three on the whole forum.

It’s almost like common sense doesn’t apply when discussing Dyche.

Imagine having that much fear that you look at 6 international players, 11 players with years and years of Premier League professional football under their belt, and your first thought is “bunker down for a 0-0 draw because Southampton are better than us”

The mind boggles

Well, first of all, we never bunkered down for a 0-0 draw against the Saints, we pressed them quite often. There was even times in the first half when Michael Keane was leaving his centre back position and joining the press. It's almost like people don't watch the game or don't understand what they are watching being that blinded by preconceptions.

Now I'm not saying we do that every game, but we just never went to saints and played with a low block or "bunkered down for a 0-0" if you will.

I personally don't believe we have 50 goals in this squad. I think if we could play DCL and Beto together we would maybe stand a chance. I just don't see how they work together though.

There's some interesting comments about goals from you in the Lampard thread (ye, ye, 2 years ago blah, blah) certainly some interesting ones about Mcneil and DCL. Lots of gnashing of the teeth and pointing out that none of them have a record of scoring at this level.

I`m fully expecting the game against Man U, to be the worst example of Dycheball we`ve seen so far.

He`s getting stick in the media.
The fans are at last starting to wake up from their Dyche induced comas.
You`ve got the likes of Pickford on his case during the game to make changes.
His interviews are getting more and more arsey and defensive.

Put this altogether and he`ll set the whole team up in our half and instruct them not to move out of our half unless we concede, then he`ll resort to Operation Hoofball and just resort back to lobbing the ball up to an isolated and mentally checked out DCL.

I fully expect this one, to be the one where the travelling fans finally turn on him properly.
