2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Surely Dyche improved the team massively from 22/23 to 23/24, but there is a huge regress visible and us to be found out while other teams like Bournemouth, Fulham or Forest that I see within our reach have taken a step forward.

The problem is the danger is huge we will be in this spot again by the 20th game. The next 10 fixtures are horrible and clearly missed the chance to give us the room.
I think this is it in a nutshell. I can't take anyone seriously who just writes Dyche's whole time here off as being crap or lucky, but there are valid criticisms of both his style of play and the results so far this season.

You mean sitting on his front lawn in a fold-out chair with a speeding camera, clocking all the cars that go, and capturing the licence plates of the ones that are going over the speed limit, Matty?

Before heading off, the local coppers station and handing them over to a Constable, demanding that there be justice!

'Aye Mr. Dyche sir. We'll be right on that.'

But meanwhile he's thinking: 'Just sod off, you bald-headed ginger tosser! I've had enough of yer rubbish!'

That's 💯% a hobby that Dyche engages in to pass the time, mate.

I think we sit between 12th-17th, whether Ancelotti or Dyche is manager.

Ancelotti had us, 10th? With a much better team.

Other teams have spent big money - I think Forest underperformed last season and kept expecting them to find a run of form that they never did. Their front three/four all get in ours.

17th is not enough imo, but I agree with 15th-12th on a 38 games based season.

We played 8 of the current 10 bottom half teams. I can distinguish to say ok we had a hard run of game, but we played non of the current top 4.

Wheels coming off but until the other week, we were tracking points wise to the same last season.

We've had injuries we didn't have last season too - we were very lucky last season on that front.

If TFG didn't walk away, he'd have been replaced in the summer and he knows it.

He's now managing players who know he's on borrowed time, with 13 of them with contracts expiring in the summer.

Not ideal.

It isn't ideal but it also feels like an excuse for inept management on more than one occasion this season.

Case in point, even the mention of the game has you riled.
Yes mate, raging.

Almost as raging as you when people were questioning replacing your Kopite hero.

Results are 80% of manager judgement and these aren't satisfying in the last few months. February to December 2023 was good and gave hope Dyche could prove he can do bigger than Burnley, knowing we won't be known for good football, but Dyche to be the man till BMD to start the foundation to bring Everton back up, to be succeeded by someone that can work based on that.

Taking about games that rile people up... Multiple people including myself, asked you how Dyche performed against Southampton, against a team that hadn’t won a game all season and have far worse team and squad than ours. You did your usual disappearing act back then, care to answer the question now?

Now you seem to have mastered reading words, maybe it’s time to start reading some dates

I can save you a lot of searching, until about January 2023 I didn’t want Sean Dyche managing Everton. From the moment Friedkin start splashing the cash, I won’t want Sean Dyche managing Everton.

He was the right horse for this very specific course that Moshiri sent the club on. That will be ending soon (although I’m sure you’ll probably still be shrieking hysterically about him for the next five years at least)

Maybe check 2013’and 2016 and see if there’s any posts there of me not wanting Sean Dyche, they’re about as relevant as all the other ones you’ve found.

Just open up a fixture list and count the wins, it's not difficult.

Never a fan of overreaction, yeah we stabilized defensively comparing to the opening games, but also we have 3 games in a row with no goals now.

Against a promoted team, against a team that is a bit below our level at home with one man more for over a half and one of the worst at that moment team in the league.

That added to the start can't give a lot of credit for the manager.

I'd have also had that opinion then.

Back when I'm calling on Everton to sack the likes of Koeman/Silva for a Mourinho or Emery I'd have laughed at the prospect of Dyche as Everton manager.

But you can alter your opinion as facts change and/or recognise the difficulties of the job he's had at Everton.

You can also believe Everton's situation isn't a direct consequence of Dyche being manager, but more Moshiris running of the club. You said in the past Everton's stadium will kill the club. It very nearly did thanks to Russia's war.

I look forward to the day we have a top manager and a good team. But I'll still be grateful to the bloke who kept us up during our worst spell. I, like everyone else, had us as down before he come in and id have had us as down last season if knew the deduction was what it was.
