2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I think you're missing the point I made about since HT against Palace. He was close to the sack then, but since then he's bought some time. He's left with little room for error now though.

I don't see how you think I've flip flopped. I actually said I'd stop posting for a while - at my own discretion might I add - if we lost, and that defeat would be unacceptable, regardless of circumstances, because he'd left himself no room for error with the poor start. Last time I checked, we didn't lose.

You might be right about him not getting sacked. It's typical of the mess we've been in, and that in turn is why I don't think it's fair to lay all of the blame on the manager. I've only ever tried to be fair to him, and if my standards of staying clear of the drop zone are low, then that's because of what Mr Moshiri has done to this club.
This is what you said prior to the Brentford game. How can he have bought more time when we haven't played anyone since and you had already said it would be hard to mount a defence for him if we drew. Seems pretty conclusive to me. Like i said, flip flops mate.

Fair enough. I personally believe that he's clinging on by the skin of his teeth if we draw, but it will be hard for me to mount a serious defence for him if we do draw.

Nope. If you notice, I'm now demanding wins or he be sacked. The draw has put him in the last chance saloon for me, I'm no longer prepared to stand by and watch more poor results, like I was with Saints for example. So yeah, my stance has changed since that result. Much like I said it would.

I literally said he'd be clinging on by the skin of his teeth. That's where we are, and I accept it. Whilst he's still clinging on I will back him because I want him to do well for us.

I've also said he needs a win in the next 2 to stave off me saying "sack", but you know what, an abject display tomorrow might well bring that forward. That's my prerogative, I'm allowed to change my mind any time I choose.

I am long done with him tbh. Last chance saloon happened for me a while ago. I hope we win every game of course but i also hope that he is the first person to be replaced by TFG. He is not the way forward no matter what happens. Incapable of change, consistency and improvement. It will always be win a couple that you shouldn't win and sing his praises and then lose or draw a shed load that you should have won.

Anyway, lets hope for one of those freak wins tomorrow eh.

Defence is playing well mate, I think he can get us a clean sheet tomorrow. If he does, it might at least show some of what I expect from him - a team that's hard to beat.

Of course, it's gonna be a 4-0 loss now

Its a fact of life that while LFC are beating Real Madrid in the Champions Blues fans have to pay
attention to the results of Ipswich, Soton and Wolves in November.

One of my consolations is to think about one-time rivals like Derby, Sheff Wed, Sunderland, Bolton etc and to rememeber
that it could still have been worse for EFC.

No one is enjoying this experience. You point at Derby, Southampton, sundaland, but I reckon as paying fan the last decade has probably had more joy for them. They have had promotions, and playoff sprinkled over their decades. Exciting seasons.
Staving off relegation is a miserable existence.
Villa of course are now the barometer been down and reset under new owners.
Nothing changes whoever we get in now, we just need this deal across the line, and then Weald the axe

The fact they will press us high it might be better we go long to beat the press.

Oh......................

Cant believe Utd have already got a small bit of identity after just 2 games under a new manager and here we are almost 2 years later looking like we have grabbed 11 fellas from the stands.

My best mate from back home is a saints fan … season ticket holder and said he loved last season and hates it when they are in the prem as he just watches his team struggle every week and he said he is already biding his time until they get relagated and he can start enjoying going to the matches again

Did you see the Big Match Revisisted yesterday? It was the opening day of the 1984-85 season - yes, that one - and Brian Moore was selling big-time the returns to the top flight of "some of our biggest clubs" - Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Sheffield Wednesday.

The programme started at a rapturous Hillsborough - as Wednesday returned to the top flight after 14 years. I thought to myself how that programme must have been so poignant for Wednesday fans yesterday. Chelsea and Newcastle have established themselves among the eight top sides of the country in the modern era. Whither Wednesday?

The question for us is: we are bigger than all three of those. I think we have seen our floor - our nadir (or are about to). Perhaps the bottom has been reached. What's our ceiling under new, ambitious, and competent owners?

We live in interesting times.
