2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Behind the player who has been arguably our player of the season.

Fancy joining in my tedious request? Number the below how many teams you think this lot start for in the Prem. You can add Patterson too if you like.

Harrison
Doucoure
Mykolenko
Young
McNeil
Lindstrom
NDiaye
Calvert-Lewin
Broja
Beto
Argue mcneil ndiaye broja at a push and dcl just at the some teams but not many. Is true finally caught up to us selling players and not bringing in the right standard. Patterson for me only gets in the team becuae mykolenko has been that bad this season, young has been the best fb at the club by a very long way

No.

I said;

You bold the selected and said if wasn't accurate.

Ok, I missed Wolves;

But the point remains;

"Not scoring goals has been the reason we've been fighting relegation before Dyche. It'll remain the case until we sign players who aren't Harrison, Doucoure, Mykolenko, Young, McNeil, Lindstrom etc. How many teams do them 5/6 start for? Most have been in teams that have been relegated"
you missed wolves, leeds and joint with saints

None of this matters really though does it? We've been bad since Benitez took over and both he and Lampard were not good enough. Neither is Dyche

I did answer the question, above somewhere. Then I realised it makes no sense. It is only speculative and completely disregards the role of the manager, which is essentially what we are evaluating here, isn't it?

Ah found it. Thanks.

So you listed 2 players in Calvert-Lewin and NDiaye as players who'd start for more than 3 teams in the Prem.

Now when assessing the resources Dyche has, and the level in which his team is underperforming - maybe it's significant that you think from that entire list of players that only 2 would start for more than 3 teams.

Of which I agree.

I mentioned Wolves. And my point was scored less. Southampton didn't score less.

And it does matter. Massively so. It's why I've told anyone who'll listen for years that we'll be in a relegation scrap because we can't score enough goals to stay away from one.

It's meant incredibly negative football, relying on %/set pieces.

Sean Dyche’s Burnley scored less and went down 🤷‍♂️

It could be more though. It was when I was answering the Calvert-Lewin one I realised he would definitely do better elsewhere under a different manager now that he's back to fitness(one of Dyche's best management achievements for us). The same likely applies to the others.

Do we need investment? yes, we agree on that
Do we need a new manager? Yes imo. Are you happy with him to stay on?

Well it’s pointless because 2 years ago 10 teams would have probably took Harrison. After his 3 years at Leeds,
Remember when it came out he’d turned us down for Villa
3 years ago 15 wound have took DCL

Fulham were linked With doucoure, who’s crap but again a few would have taken him a Couple of years back. See there’s a theme developing here.

Back to Patterson, had he played more then maybe young wouldn’t be our player of the season, he made a difference v Forest but not was to late. And he came on for 20mjns v Brentford maybe we win the game. Young out suspended and this dinosaur goes straight to Coleman who’s not even prem fit. Patterson is the only attacking full back we have and the manager doesn’t like him, but the feeling is mutual. Patterson is one of about 7 or 8 players than can’t stand the mananger.
Tick tock
