2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

My view is sacking the manager alone doesn't take us away from struggling.

I had the same view with Lampard, here and here, like so before Dyche was ever here;

Digne, Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Rodriguez, Gomes, a much younger Coleman etc all helped a fair bit too.

Players who can cross a ball, or play one forward.

If sacking Dyche alone doesn’t solve anything then why were you so insistent that he must be sacked after Forest?

Regardless of your thoughts on our players and we do have weaknesses in the squad. If you genuinely think our players standard is just fifteen goals? And TWO home wins all season. You need your eyes tested.

Also I will leave it here Steve Cooper had Forest below us last season , two signings and good coaching and set up later and Forest are in the top four and whilst they have spent more and more wisely than us in recent seasons, that's also the difference, a manager who improves players and who has an effective attacking gameplan beyond get ten men behind the ball and leather it to one isolated forward, can make.

Forest have something like 300m/400m net of transfers the last few years, their entire front line would start for us, as would their full backs.

They were massively underperforming last season. Massively overperforming this season. I think they'll finish 7th-10th. Good for them.

I dont think Nuno Santo would have us where they are now, personally.

It doesn't move us away from struggling unless we also spend money.

I'm off now, but just to give fair warn - accuse me of being a club patsy ever again and it won't end well for you.

Happy new year.

I was thinking about this a lot. Must be some sort of Stockholm syndrome after years of stress and constant media chatter that we should be grateful for the likes of Allardyce, Benitez and Dyche.

He can be thanked and sacked.
We have more stress ahead if we keep him. Another last few weeks of the season job to scrape survival.

He doesn't alone no we need a new manager and investment in the forward line. Its not all on Dyche where we are and I do give him credit for keeping us up while the club was a mess and as you say the cutting edge has been sold to keep the lights on in recent years so there is a factor out of his control. But the fact we have very little attacking framework and can't score goals or win games is mostly on him as the one(along with his assistants) who coaches the players, sets out the tactics, makes the in game decisions. If that wasn't the case managers would just stay in post for longer and just buying better players would work on its own, see how that tactic has failed at United.

What is it about Sean Dyche that makes people defend him so much? Silva, Lampard, Koeman all sacked for much less. Yes there are circmunstances but in any circumstances 3 wins in half a season is absolutely vile. Also we reinforced in the summer but he has mishandled all of the signings bar Mangala and Ndiaye.

Dyche would have gone by Februar 2024 latest, if Moshiri had any interest in the club at all.

Good tussle lads.

Have @GrandOldTeam just ahead on my card.

I will be honest, if i had paid on PPV I'd have felt a little short changed, but because I found a decent river on my stick I didn't mind it at all. I had it as a draw though a couple of the lads I was with had Mike up by 2 rounds.

Rematch I reckon around April/May time if the small print can be agreed by all.
