2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Dyche is Everton’s Keyser Soze ‘The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing some Everton fans that he was a miracle worker’

He convinced some fans that we are relegation fodder before a ball is kicked, convinced some fans that he is performing miracles, convinced some fans that without him we would be relegated, convinced some fans that he had to do all this whilst the club sold a load of our best players from under him.

The bit I’m looking forward to though is “and like that, he’s gone”

My take on Dyche is that he's the only one who really knows what he's doing at a club threatened by relegation. He's the only one standing between us and a collapse.

I have no faith in any replacement picked by any owner to solve our mess. We got Dyche two years ago and it was a complete fluke that he happened to be available and was prepared to do this job. Now some people are wanting him gone and for us to stir into the abyss again.

It's beyond belief.

It wasn`t a complete fluke you lunatic.

He`d been unemployed for over a year, as no one else wanted an overpaid hoofball merchant.

They'll have a job letting down my tires as I'll be sitting on the bike...you dont think I'm going in to watch that muck do you? :p

Football doesn't care about past achievements, so I think we all agree that we were grateful to Dyche for steadying the ship and keeping us up. Heck I even think He's done some good work away from the pitch, which isn't really his remit, so thanks again Dyche.

However in football it's all about the here and now and if you're an honest poster you'd admit that it is utter garbage at this moment in time and time we don't have. The longer this run goes on, the less matches we have to salvage it should we sack him too late.

I personally think not scoring in ten games, less than a goal a game, less than a point a game, massive winless runs interspersed by a couple of good results, is not good enough, by any stretch. Those defending him, I hope your faith isn't misplaced, it does look that way as we stand.

It was a fluke that absolutely nobody in the world wanted to appoint him in the 9 months that he was free and available.

It would square the circle neatly if the club against whom Dyche got his most historically significant result - Bournemouth - were the final opponent for an Everton side that he led.
