2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I'm finally at a point where I think keeping him until May is a risk.

It all depends on who TFG could get in. And how does that effect Jan signings?

Usually, with a manager like Dyche who has had done well previously, I would be willing to see them being backed in Jan to try and turn things around, but he doesn't seem willing to use the players bought for him / he will take his sweet time integrating him.

I wouldn’t say no to Iraola but we can’t keep this fella any longer, he’s crippling the players , the fans, and putting our PL status in serious jeopardy

The conundrum for him and anyone is how to get goals and wins out of this group of players mate - the debate really comes down to you thinking whether that comes from a different manager or different players (or both). But that's the task for anyone.

Results and lack wins means that Dyche giving TFG questions to answer - unless goals and wins come and if their investment gets into jeopardy they will act - its just to the line where that line is for them.

Just been sent this.

“He’s just rang me didn’t want to put it in a text, Everton want Iraola but know we won’t get him mid season, they’re prepared to wait till the end of the season and keep Dyche in order to get him, they don’t want a stop gap manager for next 5/6 months, and those who are available (Moyes) would not come on a short term basis. As previously stated unless something drastically changes it’s Dyche till the end of season then all out for Iraola”

While this is probably bollox, it is believable.

When we played Bournemouth at home last season, I thought they were one of the worst I've seen come to Goodison for a long time and were destined for the drop. Iraola has done a great job since.

Yep, as I say mate the argument is getting pretty close to being a moot one. We've picked up 9 points in 11 games and scored 8 goals during that run. It's currently relegation form. Last season he pulled a run of form out of the bag at a couple of crucial moments. He basically has to find that sort of run immediately or we will be left with no other choice
We’re not in a position to look 6 months ahead mate.

We need to act now or any future plans could be ripped up and thrown in the bin.

I hate this fella more than any other manager in our history and yes I include Benitez in that.

Mate we can score goals if playing to the players strengths, if we play on the front foot, if we take risks, if we get the right service into the front men, if we get midfielders breaking into the box.

It’s all basic stuff, it’s this manager that’s making this team look completely inept.

Palace have a much better squad than Everton. Wolves are probably same level and we're better off than Ipswich.

That's the reality.

Our creative payers like McNeil and Garner have been huge absences in recent weeks/months.

There's a reason for our lack of creativity.

But we also need help from the owners who should be doing deals for players.

We'll be fine under Dyche safety wise. Anyone else would IMO be a big gamble.

Yeah been saying this a lot myself, Dave. I honestly think 13th-16th is our level in this league right now.

We only have 2 standout players in Pickford and Branthwaite. Our fullback options are the worst in the league, our striking options are among the worst. But the rest are all mid-table quality.

That's why I've been wanting to not call for the manager's head but there is no denying for me that 17 from 19, with only 3 wins, is shocking.

I personally feel if they have a man in mind, and he is available, they should move for him now. But if he's not available, then it does complicate things.

At the start of the season, when Doucoure doesn’t play and Tim and McNeil played through the middle we was playing more adventurous and playing better football, although the results weren’t representative of that. We have become steadily less effective since the Palace game which is no reflection on Branthwaite and surely he sees this but he doubles down with his rhetoric and paints his own players in a bad light. On a side note do people not think his treatment of Patterson could be contributory to his poor performances. I seen play really good games under pressure against Brighton away, Liverpool at home, he marked Dias well and Leicester away in Dyches 1st season. Inconsistency I agree with but when a manager continually overlooks you and your watching what’s been served up it would most players doubt their own ability.

I agree mate could be bollox just received this message and passed it on.

For sure it’s believable though but IF it is true they need to know that he will agree to come in the summer now. And even if he does then I would still be firing Dyche today and get someone in to see the season out.
