2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

If Jordan Pickford dives the other way for two penalties, a decision that Sean Dyche has nothing to do with, then we have 15 points after 19 games. So sadly the league table and also every underlying statistic you could find, doesn’t support the idea that these players have improved under this manager.

There is absolutely no safety with Dyche and everyone knows it…
We are tough to beat is another illusion backed only by Pickford’s heroics…
Risks need to be taken to get survival…

This is spot on.

If it wasn`t for Pickford, we`d have taken zero points, instead of three from our last five games.

Is any wonder the lad is so upset when he`s coming off the pitch.

I remember this a bit differently to most people it seems.

At the risk of defending Dyche here - I don't think Jackson had any more of a chance at saving Burnley as Dyche would have had he stayed on. They got a brief 'bounce' but after that they looked even more hopeless than they did under Dyche and went down anyway..
There’s no evidence to suggest he would have kept them up—he wasn’t even managing draws by the end. Dyche had only secured 4 wins by the time he was sacked in mid-April. In his final 7 games, they lost 5, won 1, and drew 1. All the evidence suggests he was taking them down.

Look at Wolves.

They looked clueless, the players looked like they`d given up and we put four past them ffs !!!!!!

Now I`m not saying the new guy is the saviour or he`ll have them in the Champions League, but they look like a different team now.

We will find the truth when the new manager comes in and does his own assessment on the state of the team.

I`m expecting whoever it is, to find a few nasty surprises tbh.

Fair point mate.

Their problem was at the back, with Cunha they have a double digit striker. The back you can organise that.

If a new lad is coming in here and pulling double digits or close to it out of any of DCL, Harrison, McNeill or Lindstrom ill be back in here, saying how wrong i was and i hope i am. I have my doubts.

There's reasons for that. We have our creative players Garner and McNeil out.

Do you see an alternative manager to Dyche getting wins with no brain out on the pitch to pull levers?

I dont.
Using you rationale of "he's done it before, so will do it again", would moyes not do better?

I don't want him, by the way. But I do think he'd have better results than dyche.

Moyes would have a culture shock coming in here. He left a very decent team at this club (not as good as some have suggested, but still 1000% better than this squad).

This is beyond Moyes now. It'd kill him.
