To be honest 1.05 goals per game was also very poor .
Lowest on that list to be precise.
I’m record as saying we’ve a poor attacking unit mate, we have an option of signing better attackers now, we have to take it.

I said at the time of his appointment that appointing manager , whose entire modus operandi was low scoring teams, and expect him to improve a low scoring team was entirely counter-intuitive and wrong headed. It’s a combination of a lot of things mate, Onana i think is missed for the reasons I’ve said. Also feel we missed him and Garner in the press, shape and in the hole protecting in front of the back four, retaining possession and progressing through the lines early season, we conceded a lot of goals. Dyche then over compensated in my opinion, completely shored up the central Chanel, the attacking balance disintegrated and we stopped scoring goals, despite also stopping conceding in the main. We’ve never recovered or struck that balance. Also feel we missed Onana in the box, we’ve conceded far more with crosses and set peices this year, which has led to some losses.
The contract situation is also an issue in my opinion. The only attackers we have in contract next year are our most productive, creative and to be frank motivated McNeiill and Illy.
All margins that add to it in my opinion.
Did Garry Birtles write that absolute twaddle…..In the Guardian today:
Ndiaye is someone thriving under Dyche’s tutelage, perhaps unexpectedly, and watching him shield the ball 25 yards from his own goal, hold off a defender, then spin past two more to create a smart breakaway was a joy. In such a moment you can see how Dyche wants his team to play with the ball and how it can incorporate technical players. Dyche says the final pass is the issue and has asked for time. But with Everton once again looking over their shoulders at the relegation places, time is in even shorter supply than usual. The January transfer window feels critical.

Worth a discussion.. Not convinced by much of this tbh
Obviously need to make changes in Jan!
Don't see much point under dyche tbhI’m record as saying we’ve a poor attacking unit mate, we have an option of signing better attackers now, we have to take it.
I think some of our attacking players are fine though. They are just stifled. Mcneil, dcl and ndiaye could work in a good attacking side if assisted with good attacking full backs and another good winger. If we could get some players in to help them then we would be fine and that's with Dyche or without .I’m record as saying we’ve a poor attacking unit mate, we have an option of signing better attackers now, we have to take it.
If only there was a dedicated thread for you and @chicoazul to resolve your differences.Lies.
Better players are needed, absolutely, but they’re not coming to this club with a manager who will convert them into fullbacks. There are a few that hate him, players talk and meet up outside of club games and lots of potential players will know exactly what type of man manager and tactical eunuch he is.I’m record as saying we’ve a poor attacking unit mate, we have an option of signing better attackers now, we have to take it.
But it was response to a point made - does the manager have the ability to manage, to score more goals if we signed better attackers….

Yet here we are two years later 1 point away from the regation zone scoring less than a goal a match .
Not remotely surprising.
You was going so well until you said “with Dyche”I think some of our attacking players are fine though. They are just stifled. Better players are needed, absolutely but they’re not coming to this club with a manager who will convert them into fullbacks. If any do decide to sign they won’t see the pitch for a month because they won’t be “fit” or “experienced”
4d chess from Dyche. To be frank I think you’d have to be off your bin or desperate to come here as a new manager here at the moment to.
Any one worth having isn’t walking into this mess until the summer in my opinion, so essentially your looking at the equivalent of a Maupay manager - let’s say Potter or a Ashley Young - let’s say Moyes.
Pat Nevin on Irish radio now saying Everton should 100% keep Dyche. They'd be mad to fire him.
Wonder if there's an undercurrent of pros and people in the game advising TFG to keep him
