Potter would be an unmitigated disaster.

Think this has become a bit of a cliche now all because he lashed out one time in a post match press conference.

To me the bar for results and style of play is so low after Dyche he is more likely to be welcomed as a God if we string three passes together. Look at how Lampard was received post Benitez.

There in lies a problem then. Give a decent coach time. Instead of running them out of town. I think he's a good coach. The question is wether he can manage a club with expectation. Its only Chelsea that he never fitted in to. But that looked a weird one from the start.
He'd be my choice if i owned the club. Here's the keys. Get on with it and sort the club out right from grass roots so we've got players coming through. You'll get the fans on board if they can see what you're trying to do for the long term benefit of the club.

My thinking about the Lampard and Dyche appointments was that they were deliberately left late (or rather, the sacking of their predecessors was) so that we could use that as an excuse for not doing much in the window. I was worried we were doing the same again, but if we ARE being active early in the window then that theory goes up in smoke.

If Dyche is not being kept around to waste the window away, I genuinely - and I am sure my optimism will prove misplaced - think he'll be gone before Villa, if not even P'Boro.

When you make managerial changes at this stage of the season you're genuinely shopping around in the yellow stickered section of the shelf labelled "Football Managers" - there aren't a wealth of inspiring, successful and competent people freely available and unemployed in January.

Not too different from buying players in January really.
