2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

He definitely gets credit for me for his first two seasons.

Language is everything 'he saved us' ignores the fact the players, crowd and others doubtless did their bit. Sean helped in that effort. Likewise in 2nd season with points situation hanging over us. Helped get us over the line.

I'm not a Dyche 'fan' but am glad he was chosen to help the club through that period. He's the mirror image of the hideous period of decision making led by BK and Mosh.

But football is ruthless, is he the right person now, and even if he is in theory, is he delivering.

I think he could keep us up. For the first season I am open-minded to him moving on. We're going backwards and there are less weak teams around us this time around.
I totally disagree with you my friend, in fact because of his negative football, defend, defend, defend, I believe his tactics are to blame for the state we are in. If you need to thank someone, then thank Pickford.

Good reply. Second season def. First season i think he ran it close with some strange decisions. We didnt need to be 45 minutes from the drop. I felt he could have wrapped that up a few games earlier.
I bought right into the job of last season. He did what was needed. But we're miles off even that basic stuff of last season now. And its been since day one. All season has been abysmal. At least last season we were competitive. We''re now showing nothing and no sings of that changing. And a manager who after saturday with his comments we're doing ok but just for the wins is now clearly just talking out of his arse.
He looks cooked to me. Finished
Yes, there's an air around him that's changed.

When he came in there was a focus: fitness, togetherness, 'grit' etc. OK it was a bit Alladyce, but the Arsenal result got the players buy-in to his methods and it did 'improve us' after a fashion.

It was pretty dire to watch for regulars whom I respect (i'm not), but there was detail in that method and it worked.

Worryingly I am seeing a real lack of detail this season. Pre-season seemed messy. The results against Bournemouth, Saints, Villa etc.

I'm not sure we're either particularly physical now nor together with a game plan. It's like he's played his hand and now the next improvement needs to come from elsewhere.

I am so sorry, I expected a deluge of abuse on here today, but I seem to have gotten away with it thus far. Annoyingly, in my excitement to share the news, I text my son and my mates before posting on here so they all told their mates and all hate me also!

The OP is now saying it is cos they wanted Potter and so things have slowed down - whatevs, mate!!
I was just joking...as long as he goes, I will be happy.

Two trains of thought on the press conference being 4:30

1: Later training session and Dyche isn’t available until that time.

2: Dyche has gone and they’re trying to find as much time as possible to give Baines (someone else) enough of a crash course in media training.
Didn`t someone say that the presser has only gone back 30 mins?

If Dyche sits down at that presser I think TFG will have failed us and Goodison will be toxic come Thursday, fans all over the place baying for him to go.

Yes, It's gone back 30 minutes as they have run out of toilet paper as Dyche is banished to the toilet .... as we interview someone?

If you were going to announce a sacking or new manager why would you only put it back 30 mins about 5 hours ago... nothing suggests to me that something is going on, it will be Dyche as usual and we can all look forward to Dycheball on Thursday! Lucky us...

Its got to be very unlikely they sack him 48 hours before a game. Normal M. O. would be to see how the P'Boro game goes - anything other than a resounding victory and he is gone Friday (which is our favorite day to make news) - we don't play again until next Wednesday so that gives aome time for them to dry the ink on the new guy or let Baines have a few sessions with the lads to improve our style.
