2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

There’s something in this. Imo a lot of luck went our way in that first season. Coleman scoring a once in a career ridiculous fluke against Leeds at home, Pope making that save from Castagne, Maddison hitting a pen straight at Pickford. If any one of those events didn’t happen we would’ve been down.
Can't really argue with last season, but I don't know why he gets so much credit for that first great escape.

It was a closer call than Lampard managed after taking over from Benitez.

He definitely gets credit for me for his first two seasons.

Language is everything 'he saved us' ignores the fact the players, crowd and others doubtless did their bit. Sean helped in that effort. Likewise in 2nd season with points situation hanging over us. Helped get us over the line.

I'm not a Dyche 'fan' but am glad he was chosen to help the club through that period. He's the mirror image of the hideous period of decision making led by BK and Mosh.

But football is ruthless, is he the right person now, and even if he is in theory, is he delivering.

I think he could keep us up. For the first season I am open-minded to him moving on. We're going backwards and there are less weak teams around us this time around.

Good reply. Second season def. First season i think he ran it close with some strange decisions. We didnt need to be 45 minutes from the drop. I felt he could have wrapped that up a few games earlier.
I bought right into the job of last season. He did what was needed. But we're miles off even that basic stuff of last season now. And its been since day one. All season has been abysmal. At least last season we were competitive. We''re now showing nothing and no sings of that changing. And a manager who after saturday with his comments we're doing ok but just for the wins is now clearly just talking out of his arse.
He looks cooked to me. Finished

He did well results wise last season, but you mention language is everything and then say “he got us over the line” last season.

Getting us over the line implies we were close to relegation, even with the points deduction, we would have only needed 34 points to stay up. Even Lampard managed 35 points from his 38 games in charge. It was one of the poorest leagues in decades in terms of bottom 3 points totals.

The run at the end of the season was excellent in terms of results (4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss). But we could have lost all the ones we won and still stayed up. Thats honestly how poor the league was.

He did a decent jobs results wise but if we were in danger that he needed to save us, he was part of putting us there as well.

Potter would be quite underwhelming given the rhetoric coming from TFG pre-takeover, but if it is Potter I`ve no doubt it will be better than it is now and I will support him.

Literally everyone to a man is quoting it as Potter if they get rid of Dyche, that remains to be seen, but what if they are using that as a screen whilst they move for someone else.

Two trains of thought on the press conference being 4:30

1: Later training session and Dyche isn’t available until that time.

2: Dyche has gone and they’re trying to find as much time as possible to give Baines (someone else) enough of a crash course in media training.
