Our game in hand is against the best team in Europe right now!

It’s hardly something to take heart from.

Best team in Europe? Pffft!

Take a look at the form table even in the PL...

Last 6 games on a par with Bournemouth...

If you were going to announce a sacking or new manager why would you only put it back 30 mins about 5 hours ago... nothing suggests to me that something is going on, it will be Dyche as usual and we can all look forward to Dycheball on Thursday! Lucky us...
Even if he appears for the presser going my all the chatter it seems that friedkins are looking to sack him but want a manager in place beforehand, so if it's one more game it will be okay and not a sign that he's here forever, I despise dyche as well but I think you get a little flustered at times I get it he's atrocious and the thought of him being here longterm is dreadful but unfortunately things don't move as swiftly as our whims it's definitely coming though

Realistically, our game in hand is worth 0 points, and an 11 point gap above 20th place is irrelevant when the gap is only 1 point between us and 18th.
Let's talk about Palace then: we're 4 points off them with a game in hand.

Is it ok to start saying we're closing in on them?

I’m sure Dyche himself would non ironically use “we’re 11 points ahead of Southampton” in a press conference as a way of justifying the great job he’s doing.

No, because we are accumulating points at a rate of 0.89 per game this season, and 0.6 over the last 6 games. Palace are accumulating points at a rate of 1.5ppg over their last 6, and Ipswich at 1.17. All of which seems to suggest a far higher likelihood that Ipswich will catch us before we catch Palace.

Short run trend.
